Does Unown G prevent Staraptor's Strong Breeze attack?

Unown G -- As long as Unown G is attached to a Pokémon, prevent all effects of attacks, excluding damage, done to that Pokémon.

Staraptor's Strong Breeze -- Flip a coin. If heads, put 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and all cards attached to it on top of your opponent's deck. Your opponent shuffles his or her deck afterward.

Normally, I would say hands-down "yes"... but, I wonder... is the effect on "that pokemon" or is the effect on "your opponent"?

Are yopu sure because it says " done to THAT pokemon" the effect is going to a different pokemon, i've been confuzzled about this one, also.

The effect's on the Pokemon, not on the opponent. So, yeah, Unown G stops it.

Unknown G gets rid of anything that isn't damage done to the Pokemon it is attached to (Gardevoir's Psychic Lock, for example, would not be stopped). And Staraptor is doing that to the Pokemon it is attached to, so yeah it stops it.

Unown G prevents all effects of attacks done to THE POKEMON IT"S ATTACHED TO. So unless your pokemon with Unown G is on the bench, and your opponent stupidly tries to take you out, the no, it wouldn't block it.

As long as the Pokemon chosen for Strong Breeze has Unown G attached to it, the effect is canceled.

Thank you everyone...

Yes, in my scenario, I am assuming that Unown G is attached to the benched pokemon.

My question really was focused on whether Staraptor's attack was an effect on the pokemon itself (ie - Staraptor is affecting the benched pokemon by having it removed from play by Staraptor's owner and shuffled into its deck by its owner) or an effect onto the Player (ie - Staraptor is making the player shuffle one of his or her cards into his or her deck.)

The difference is rather subtle, thus the question.

I am now pretty convinced that the pokemon is the target of the effect and that Unown G prevents Staraptor's owner from reaching over and placing it on top of his or her opponents deck.

That is what I originally thought, but figured I'd pose it to the group.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

This is the thing about Unown G. The Pokemon it's attached to can not have anything done to it EXCEPT damage. That's it. Since the effect being done ISN'T damage, nothing is done to that Pokemon. Even if the effect was on the player, the player would have to shuffle the card into the deck, but in the end, it would still be the effect of an attack shuffling it into the deck.

The only reason staraptor would harm the pokemon is staraptor stating: "choose one of your opponents benched pokemon, then have your opponent schuffle that pokemon and all cards attached to it into his or her deck" that WOULD be an effect on your opponent.

So unfortunatley, staraptor doesn't harm an unown G pokemon, I rather bail as a staraptor player :D.

Mr. Davies,
The Pokemon Unknown G is attached to wouldn't be affected by Staraptor's strong breeze because Unknown G prevents everything excluding direct damage. Since the effect is not direct damage, Unknown G will prevent that. If you have any questions that you come up with at league. You can feel free to ask me. Hope I helped!

Unown G prevents an effect of an attack like Staraptor's Strong Breeze.

With the question answered, this thread can be locked.
