Ok, that is a silly plan. It's not like people can't just come to the US and steal/hijack/ screw over the nukes we supposedly have. Keeping things under wraps keeps you at an advantage against possible enemies because they wouldn't have a clue of what you possess. This just says the country is getting too big in the head.

Children, you honestly believe that the USA are really revealing the real number they possess? Maybe they are bluffing and have less than they claim, or maybe they have more than they claim. The "stockpile of 5113 nuclear warheads" is a bogus number.

As for why this announcement was made, well, it's just like the announcements that were made during the Cold-War era for example. America are worried that the actions of countries such as North Korea, China, Iran, etc., will provoke a global nuclear war. By announcing that America has several thousand, they are simply saying "Guys, chill out, we'd kick your butt. So plz stop communism plz."
 
no nation that extort's as much bs as the state's would lie about the amount of weaponry that they would have to strike an indigenous amount of fear into the nation's of this world (which yes the united states of America is a fear based nation), but the thing is, nobody care's about it anymore. we all know this nation has this many nuke's and this nation has more, so we are going to join the race to out beat them all for global leadership, but it's not just the amount of weaponry that head's international supremacy (weaponry is really only 5% if you wanna be technical). cya

P.S. and for the record it wasn't communism that was bad it was the dictator's, take political science's for a year or even just read the communist manifesto, and you'll find out that communism is no different then democracy in term's of good or bad, nuff sed.

Please do not use big words without knowing what they mean. If you have to wonder what the word means, then it doesn't mean what you think it means.
 
What does it matter if we have 5,113 nukes or not? Other countries know that we contain more nukes than them (excluding Russia), and they know if they try to spawn a nuclear war with us we could destroy their country in an instant. As for Russia, I'm not quite sure if it has any bearing, but if you think about it, population density in most areas there is extremely low, so the most densely populated, urban area (being Moscow of course) is an easy target. Not to mention the general population decline the country has been suffering over the years also. Trust me, I doubt anybody will be trying to nuke us anytime soon.
