USA gets spoiled for Worlds.

So anybody here agrees on that the USA has an unfair advantage over the rest of the world at worlds?
No offense to the USA but Worlds has always been rigged in favor of American players since the beginning basically.

Each country get a whole 3 players to represent it, one for Masters, Seniors and Juniors... except for USA. They get a whole 30+ players while everyone else gets 3. The venue for Worlds is always held in an American state too, i.e. more chance for USA players to go to Worlds through LCQ. It is SUPPOSED to be "Worlds", not USA + Friends. POP basically tries to put as many American players into Worlds as possible by any legal means necessary. It makes it seem that they don't want anyone else to win. Now unless they either restrict the amount of USA players that enter Worlds or increase the amount of International players who are allowed to participate then it will always be rigged in favor of USA.

Then you can go on about the rest of the argument relating to no one else having access to DP cards until right before Worlds leaving everyone else at a disadvantage...

If your on this forum you must have the internet meaning you have endless supplies of any set of pokemon cards you wish... you can buy any cards and any packs/boxes as you wish millions of sites sell them... the USA may have DP on their shelves but what keeps you from using the cards from DP...nothing... buy them on the internet... or is that illegal? i think not... plus "getting used to the new rules" is like putting on your socks you may change the pair or the foot but its all the same in the end, the new rules are cake and don't feel any different!

It's illeagal to sell sets before the release date here in Australia, I've seen shops that have been busted for doing it.

so what your saying is you can't go on eBay and buy the cards from the USA or anywhere else? i find that hard to believe... i can understand the stores/shops not being able to sell them but whats from keeping from buying on eBay or other online retailers?

By the time the worlds are, Japan will be in a FRLG-DP2 format. So Japanese players will have to quickly adapt to decks without FRLG/TRR/DP2, while the US players have played with that for a while. So that gives an edge against Japan.

^ youre joking right?
lets see since there "nationals" are over they are practicing right now....
and just so you electrivire/Dragonite d(worlds legal deck) won a lot over there and yamato won the big tournament with DELTA!!!!! another legal deck : )

as for europre, ya you guys get screwed sry : (

I know that Japan wins a lot with decks now legal, but they still got cards (Pidgeot! POW!) that are just very good and they can't use.

Also Snowblind, the main point is that we cannot test out these cards at MAJOR events. I'd love having nats with DP rules but we don't. I'm not gonna run a SINGLE DP card, but the rules will be very important.

Yes tournaments you get to play against surprising new decks with twists that can leave you losing and with Americans knowing (or learning) how to use them and counter them we have more strength. After all knowing is half the battle.

i see its all about play testing... seeing what works and what doesn't... ok i'm on the same page now :D

The new rules bother you... really? It took me two seconds to adapt to the new rules. Seriously.

The major rule change involves drawing a card when you go first. That is not at all difficult to do. All you have to do is tell yourself, "Oh yeah! I get to draw!" and I'm sure you'll pick up a card. Plus I'm certain that if you happen to forget to draw, your opponent will kindly remind you. The second rule change is no trainers, supporters, or stadiums on your first turn. This is also not difficult to adapt to, especially since you couldn't play supporters anyway. I'm positive your opponent will remind you of this rule as well if you happen to forget. The weakness, resistance, and Lvl X changes are printed on the card, so I doubt you'd ever forget it. The other rule changes are just common sense.
Also, the spoilers for Diamond and Pearl have been out for a long time, and you can find them all over the internet right now. I doubt it would be difficult for a Worlds-calibur player to sit in front of a computer and evaluate the cards.
About the invite distribution, there's really no perfect answer to it. Yes, the USA gets several more invites than other countries, but it also has more players. Even with the 30+ invites we get in each age group, many, many deserving players will be left out. Because of its bigger player base, the USA naturally has more Worlds-deserving players than other countries. This being said, POP wants to give more invites in this area than other places because Worlds isn't just about including all countries; it is just as much about sending as many world-class players as possible to the World Championship. With more invites, it only makes sense business-wise to have the venue in the United States, which of course brings about the LCQ (which is a problem that can never be fixed because it will give an advantage to any country that holds the event).

Japan doesn't have a single format. Their format varies by event. Just look at Tego's reports over on the Gym. They get exposure to cards long before the US or Europe & can develop deck strategies & do testing months in advance of anyone else. Hey that's not fair to the rest of the world!

Many European countries are smaller than US states both in terms of size and Pokemon playing population. But, hey! They each get an invite. What's up with that? If it were fair the EU would get invites not the member countries! It's not fair to the US!

Hey Mexico and Canada have to fight with the US for ratings invites but they don't have as many events & so can't get the same number of points. It's not fair to them!

Look EVERYONE has SOMETHING stacked against them this year. You can either whine about the other guy’s advantages ... or you can constructively try to do the best you can.

... They know what they can and can't play for worlds. It's not like they walk over to the tournament with their deck with their Pidgeots and Blastoise EXs and then get them ripped out of their hands with no idea. Think about it like us adjusting to the new format. We know what we'll have and we have ideas and we can test them out now. That's quite easy, and it's much easier if we would have known that from the beginning of the season, which Japan does know. We'd have an entire year to get used to the idea.

And why would you TEST a deck at a major event? I did that once a long time ago and I'd never ever do it again. You'd never want to sacrifice points just to see if a deck would work or not. Even at a small scale event like a local tourney, players keep format breakers to themselves. All you need to do is have a couple friends that are well experienced that you can test with.
