Valentines Day

I want to give my son's LOVE a gift. I was going to give them a trip for dinner however she said I didnt need to. Now my son wants to give her some sort of gift for Valentines. The school will celebrate tomorrow cause monday is holiday. What should he give her?

Don't give him ideas, if he thinks of it himself it will be better for his life :D

My valentine this year, is nonexistent. Yay for singles! I'm only a freshman, I got time.

My day:

Wake up
Go to school and be bored all day
Listen to Born This Way on replay
Watch Lady Gaga on Jay Leno
Go to bed

/day

I might ask a girl to the dance this Monday. (Yes Canada has the dance on Monday) Im just too Chicken to ask her. -_-

So I went to the stores to find some valentine cards cause my two cousins needed them for their classmates. Wow times have changed. I had trouble picking out the cards because large retail stores like walmart, superstore etc had some cheap quality cards. No envelopes, and the most importantly...no classic box. They were just in a simple plastic. Sure it's great to go green but...it just felt weird. Oh well, at least I have good memories of when the cards used to come in cardboard boxes.

My girl and I are celebrating our four year anniversary a few days after Valentine's, so I think we'll be combining the two (as usual). Probably just dinner or something...we never do anything too extravagant. :)

Ugh. Is there a reason I've always hated Valentines Day? Yeah. I don't recall anyone liking me since kindergarten, (Which I was very popular in,) and the person I liked liked me, but I was afraid to tell her. >_< I wish I had manned up, it might of had some influence on my relationship status now, because I've asked out 2 girls this year, one said no, the other still hasn't said if she wanted to go out with me or not.. but I do have 1 class with her, and she's been awfully nice to me, which I'm hoping is a good sign.

Censored quote from "The New Guy". I replaced some words.

"The girls you get ain't gonna be the girls you want and the girls you want ain't gonna be the girls you get."

Btw, Pokemon is hot if you use it right. A lot of people at my school randomly talk about the old days of RBY, and how they played it when they were 6. Get into those conversations, but go with them, don't talk about the merits of Crobat in OU lol.

Hyperbeem is completely right! My girlfriend played Pokémon in the days of RBY and we talked about it sometimes even before we started dating; it's still fun to talk about occasionally. We even looked at all the new BW 'mons together when they first came out. Of course, it'll only work if you're the right age and like Hyperbeem said, don't delve too deep into things (and don't use it as a conversation starter!). :p

Like someone said earlier I'm usually not aware of Valentines Day until I walk into a grocery store and I'm surrounded by heart balloons.
I usually ignore Valentines day, but I'll let you pick why. Is it:
A. I'm far too scared of rejection to ask a girl out
or B. Valentines day isn't a real holiday, it's just made up as an excuse to by cards and candies.
EDIT: @Piplup, the fact that you are a member of this website is enough to contradict you not being a nerd.

I don't like anyone at all. Yeah, kinda strange. In High School I might start with all this girl stuff, but for now I don't need somebody dragging me down. Usually I just east Chocolate on Valentines day. It's totally different for my friends though. They all like a girl. Kinda strange isn't it?

Me and my girlfriend will be celebrating Valentines Day by going skiing in the mountains. Valentines Day is also three days before our six month anniversary, but we both decided to have our celebration on Valentines Day. :D

I might ask a girl to the dance this Monday. (Yes Canada has the dance on Monday) Im just too Chicken to ask her. -_-

Oh man, that sucks. I hope you can work up the nerve to ask her. Good luck! :D

I gave up on this day and Holiday a long time ago.

I probably need to buy an ice cream carton and pig out or something.

dmaster out.

In previous years, I strictly gave handmade gifts for my boyfriend. I have written him two poems and two letters; I've knitted him a scarf; I've sewn a pillowcase for his jumbo pillow, and I've drawn two artworks just for him. I prefer handmade gifts, though it depends on the occasion. This year, I'm giving him something very special (it's his belated anniversary gift) – a two-sided, constellation necklace.

This necklace is like walking down memory lane...one of our first dates was stargazing. I used to have an obsession with astronomy, so it was in my nature to talk about constellations and their mythologies. Cassiopeia was explained first (because it's my favourite story), and thus I had its stars punctured in one of the metal discs. The second disc has the constellation of Cepheus – the king of Aethiopia and Cassiopeia's husband.

This year, we are together for Valentine's Day. I want to go to IKEA, buy an unfathomable number of their hotdogs, and spend a nice lunch with my boyfriend. Everyone who knows me realizes how much I LOVE hot dogs. Why IKEA? They're only 50¢ (We're both quite frugal with our finances – aside from my card collection, of course [laughs].) We're planning on going to the arcade and playing some games, too. He has to work in the evening, so we're having a nice dinner the next night. We're not sure where, yet...

@CMP I agree that pokemon is a thing to talk about. If you were a kid in the U.S. post-1996 you probably played pokemon. You just need to monitor how much it gets brought up. My current girlfriend knows I play pokemon and thinks its cute but I don't talk about what or how or how often I play it, so it stays as a cute hobby. On the flip side, when I got to the point of going over to my ex-girlfriends house to play TCG with her little nine-year old sister that became annoying to her and led to us eventually breaking up.
SO, in conclusion- If you want to use pokemon to help pick up dates-
-Its ok for people to know you play its part of who you are don't be fake
-Don't talk about competitive pokemon
-If people say how much they hate all the new pokemon agree with them
-Don't talk about it too much
-And just be yourself, if you are faking yourself looking for love people are gonna fall in love with fake you. Which isnt you.

Thats all of my advice for pokemon and love and valentines day and whatnot.

We has the fourth year disco yesterday. My friend and I made sure we got rejected, but in the end someone actually said yes to a dance. Words failed me, but I danced badly anyway.

The only issue about talking about Pokemon to kids who only remember from the "old days" is that they think they know a ton by being able to say "Pika! Pikapii!"

Beyond that, and more on the discussion of Valentines, you guys go really all out on the gifts. If someone gave me a chocalate bar on Valentines I would probably rejoice and give tears of joy.

I'm too early in a relationship to do anything about Valentines, so I guess I can just daydream about next year.

:D
