Viability of MewPluff

Is mewpluff a stable competetor in the current meta? Does it hold against ZPS and the other power houses? Is it even considered rouge at this point?

I'm going to get hate for this, but I don't see it as too much of a contender /unless/ your meta is full of Gothitelle. Zekrom really runs through it if it gets a decent start, since it can OHKO everything in your deck. It's well enough know to be considered somewhat meta.

I don't see it as much of a competitor. Anything that can survive an attack from it at full power and attack again stomps it, since pretty much everything in that category can do 60 + damage consistently. Plus, Max Potion also puts them even farther ahead in the prize race.

I went 3-2 at BR's with MewPluff so that's still saying it's a Tier 2 deck at best. You still need to run Stage 1 backup attackers moreso being Cinccino, Zoroark, and/or Yanmega Prime. It's not going to beat ZPST and it can stand a chance against DonChamp depending If they play Max Potion soon enough. Luckily for me my opponent never played Max Potion.

My metagame doesn't see too much Gothitelle since like with Machamp Prime it can get one shotted by Mew Prime with the full bench/Mass Attack setup. It also really depends If you get that early game See Off fast enough and If you're playing against google.dec without Trainer Lock run at least 1 Muk for Sludge Drag cause that can make a huge difference over not being able to Catcher your Opponent's bench.

I wouldn't dismiss this deck that easily, it can be a pretty good deck granted If you run the right cards and with Tornadus that covers the decks' problem with Donphan. I've tried Plume lock with it and Yanmega's the only thing that makes it consistent and I pretty much had to resort to this variant instead. Yes you do get donked alot however with Revives you will make a comeback garaunteed as well as getting a full bench faster with Collector.

With consideration of Noble Victors, is eviolite going to help MewPluff out a whole lot?

It could be a decent replacement over Tornadus in MewPluff decks since now they will have another way around Donphan early game. The main problem I see with Eviolite is the timing to attach it to Mew and If you're already Item Locked and they have a Donphan on the board you're probably better off with Tornadus absorbing damage for you.

There's also Kyurem which with a DCE for Outrage anything Donphan or Reshiphlosion will be afraid to deal damage to it unless they don't care about a 1 for 1 prize exchange. In Reshiphlosion's case all they need to do is add a PlusPower to KO Kyurem with Blue Flare before their opponent has a chance to Outrage for their prize. I might run Kyurem over Tornadus in my MewPluff deck to get around Donphan better, hard to decide.

Kyurem can take care of Donphan Prime while Zoroark can handle Reshiram and Zekrom. Seems like a win-win to me. For some reason I see Kyurem being a better replacement over Tornadus in decks like ZPST or even MewPluff. I really do think it has amazing potential next set If not for the amazing bench spread for 3 energies and for that you'd want to run it in it's own deck.

MewPluff is really only viable when run with trainer-lock, as otherwise everything will be able to setup normally, meaning Mew just can't keep up with it's 60HP against all the powerhouses nowadays(despite maybe outspeeding them). Jamming an opponent's setup by either a). Trainer locking b). Sludge Dragging/Catchering and/or c). Fast KO's of key parts are the only way Mew can compete with all the other decks.

Your best matchup would be Gothitelle, and your worst matchups would be ZPST and Donphan. While Stage 1 Rush can also be a big threat, if you can jam their communications fast enough, as well as Judge'ing them early on, you could have a good chance at taking the lead and nab yourself the win.

ReshiPhlosion/Tyram, Blastoise/Floatzel, Megazone, KYJ, and most rogue decks will be 50/50 or 40/60, but it all depends on how consistent your deck runs, ''luck of the draw'', and the level of the players. MewPluff (or Mewbox depending on your complete list) is still a decent enough deck to hold it's ground, but I doubt it will claim any ''big'' tournament. Try it for yourself, and see how it works for you. Mew's biggest asset is being able to go many ways, and this flexibillity is really the only selling point it has in today's meta (of course, for those nit-pickers, the free retreat helps too).

On your point of view on Eviolite; yes, it will help Mew. But when you take into account that stuff like Reshiram, Zekrom, Thundurus, Tornadus, Magnezone, and even AbillityBoar can OHKO it without effort, do you really want to include it? Sure, it helps against stuff like Donphan (or even a stray Ninetails, or something like that), but with only 20 HP left, Mew isn't going to do much either way. In that aspect Tornadus is the way better option here; it has a ''bulky'' 110HP, is a basic as well, requires no extra type of energy, and smacks 80 as well as powering up your Mews and/or other attackers. Also don't forget, if you're going for the trainer-lock, your own Eviolites will be stuck in your hand as well... Don't forget that Mew running Vileplume can include Sunflora for speed issues, which then opens the way to including Yanmega Prime (which also resists Donphan, hits for 70 on the active or can snipe for 40 anywhere you'd want).

Good luck with the deck, and feel free to PM me if you want more advice/feedback!
