Hello good people!
After recently having gotten bored of playing Gothitelle, I decided to take it apart and build something a bit different - a deck that for some reason I have dubbed "VictiniBox".
The idea isn't really that new at all. It's just using a bunch of powerful attackers that rely on coin flips to get the best results out of them, and running them all in a deck with the coin flip Victini from Noble Victories to make them a lot more consistent than they would be otherwise, because you'll be more likely to hit the beneficial results on the flips. Here is my current list:
Pokemon - 20
2-2 Sharpedo
2-1 Zoroark
3 Audino EP
2 Victini NV14 (Fliptini)
1 Victini NV15 (V-Create)
3-1 Weavile
1-1 Slowking
1 Cleffa
T/S/S - 27
3 Pokemon Collector
3 Prof. Juniper
2 Prof. Oak's New Theory
3 Sage's Training
2 Seeker
1 N
3 Junk Arm
2 Pokemon Catcher
3 Pokemon Communication
2 Energy Exchanger
2 Pokegear 3.0
1 Super Rod
Energy - 13
4 Special Dark
4 Double Colourless Energy
1 Rescue
2 Dark
2 Fire
As you can see, the deck runs a variety of Pokemon to deal with different situations at different stages of the game. I guess you could call it a variant of Sharpedo/Victini, just with less focus on Sharpedo and more on having a toolbox of attackers to choose from (Hence, VictiniBox).
Sharpedo is for early disruption and perhaps attacking with Rage. Hitting a Strip bare early on really sets the opponent back and is a great opener for you.
Zoroark is to help against the big dragons Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem, as well as preperation for the future upcoming EXes.
Audino is for just straight up attacking, and abuse of DCEs can mean that Audino on average 80 damage with no drawbacks with just 2 DCEs.
Victini NV14 is of course, the backbone of the deck, as with his Victory Star ability, you get that one extra chance at flipping the coin result you need to pull off that Strip Bare or tip over the damage of Audino's Powerful Slap to get that KO.
Victini NV15 is just there as a quick, 100 damage attacker that can one hit KO Cobalion and many other basics.
Weavile is actually only run in one copy as it's actually Sneasel that this deck uses more, abusing Special darks and using Beat up to make him another backup attacker. Claw Snag is great to get rid of a crucial card from the opponent's hand though, so I do still run him in one copy along with 2 seekers so I can reuse him.
Slowking is not a priority, but is just there to help lock down the opponent after a Strip bare to cut them off from their best resources.
Finally Cleffa is just staple emergency hand refreshment.
The Supporters line is relative standard - a mixture of shuffle drawers and straight drawers as well as seeker for Weavile reusage. As for the Items, two catchers are in there just because really, they should be in every non trainer lock deck, as well as 3 copies of the almighty Junk arm to get back the right trainer at the right time and 3 Pokemon communication to get out those evolutions more quickly. One slightly different choice is the use of the two energy exchangers, I threw this in as I found that in playing, I'd often have the wrong kind of energy in my hand for the play I wanted to make. The Energy exchanger means that I can pick exactly the right kind of energy at the right time - a fire for the V-Create Victini, a special dark for Sharpedo or Sneasel, a DCE for Audino, you get the drift. Finally, two copies of PokeGear to get out that ever important draw or search supporter and one copy of super rod just to have that option of recovery should all go astray.
The energy line feel like just the right balance to power up everything in the deck.
So, what do you think of this list? Is there anything you'd change up or any other suggestions you'd make for it? All advice is appreciated, and if you've gotten down here, thanks for reading everything! XD
