Standard Vikavolt Bulu for internationals

So I'm probably going to play vikavolt/bulu going into these two league cups before the international challenge. So let's see what everyone thinks
Pokemon – 16

3 Grubbin SUM
2 Charjabug SUM
2 Vikavolt SUM
2 Tapu Bulu GX
2 Tapu Lele GX
1 Drampa GX
1 Tapu Koko PRM

Trainers – 32

4 Professor Sycamore
3 N
2 Lysandre
1 Skyla
1 Pokémon fan club
1 Olympia
1 Brock’s Grit

4 Ultra Ball
4 VS Seeker
3 Rare Candy
2 Field Blower
1 Energy Recycler
3 Choice Band
3 Float Stone

Energy

7 grass
5 lightning

As you can see I'm 3 spaces short not gonna add another Lele or bulu and would probably want to fill the space with tech trainers or something. Anyways thanks for looking!

Well Wally is extremely meh. Also if you are playing in any league cup or event where you expect a lot of metagross do not play this deck without some kind of tech.

Hi @AshGottem

The first thing that stands out to me is the inclusion of Pokémon Fan Club.

From my experience, Brigette is far superior in decks that;

A) run multiple evolving Basics;
B) run Basic Pokémon-GX attackers; and
C) do not play Shaymin-EX.

With no Shaymin-EX, there is almost no advantage of playing a Supporter that puts Pokémon into your hand (rather than the Bench). The only benefit is being able to put Tapu Lele into your hand, to active Wonder Touch and guarantee a Supporter for next turn. However, the advantages of Brigette far outweigh this flimsy point as, more often than not, you just want to get your Grubbin and Tapu Bulu-GX into play.

Secondly, I don't see any Heavy Ball in your list. This card hasn't seen much play but boy is it good in this list. It's a free search for Charjabug, Vikavolt and Tapu Bulu-GX. In a metagame filled with Garbodor, it's good to have a search option that doesn't require you to discard cards from your hand, as you won't end up discarding Item cards to fuel Trashalanche.

Thirdly, as others have said, there really is no reason not to run a third Vikavolt. That card is the lifeblood of this deck and, if you get two in play, you're almost always on course to win the game.

So, here's how I see it:

-1 Pokémon Fan Club

+1 Brigette
+2 Heavy Ball
+1 Vikavolt

I hope that helps. Best of luck! :)

I don't think Wally would be a bad idea, it'll be able to evolve to vikavolt quicker and you can use it on the first turn grubbin/charjabug were played

Wally is bad. I one hundred percent agree with WastedSkyPirate on every single point. Heavy Ball is too amazing not to play, as well as the third Vikavolt. Brigette is better than
Fan Club in this deck, because of the points made already, you should really take that advice. My advice would be:

3 Tapu Bulu is almost a necessity since it's your main attacker, and your preferred starter, and that being said, it also prevents you from starting with Grubbin more.

2 Forest of Giant plants/ APCA since you need a counter stadium, plus both of these are two excellent choices for stadiums where:
APCA keeps you Bulu and Koko alive, BUT do keep in mind this stadium only affects basics, so it WON'T affect Vikavolt.
Forest of Giant Plants helps getting Vikavolt out T2 faster and easier, and making you not totally reliant on Candy.

2 Energy Recycler is a necessity since, if you prize or discard one, Brock's Grit would be your only hope to recover Energy. Because this deck burns Energy fast, 2 Energy Recycler would be superior to the latter.

2 Heavy Ball grabs Bulu, Vikavolt and Charjabug without discarding resources, which is a counter-measure against Garbodor(WastedSkyPirate already made this point).

These are my suggestions.

I play a Decidueye/Alolan-Ninetales and I almost never lost to this deck. Why? well, simple, all you need is stuck the Vikavolt with Lysandre and blowers in case they get float stones.
Obviously not everyone will snipe your pokemon since there are other decks, but you have to keep in mind your weaknesses. So you may add another recycler and be careful with your energies. Don't go all greedy just using your ability all the time to fill your benched pokemons with energies, that's a mistake that most of the times makes them lose against decks like Decidueye or any other who manages to stuck Vikavolt.
Maybe you will want to add another Skyla since you gonna need to either pull rare candy fast or to get blowers in case a Garbodor (ability block) appears.

Apart from that I think it's a pretty solid deck, not sure about adding another Vikavolt as others say but you could try.

I've seen a bit of hype for a copy of Tapu Koko-GX in this deck.

It's a good card to bear in mind as it offers you two solid attacks (especially the powerful GX attack) and a way switch out a stranded Active Pokémon (which @Omarphylax highlights as a potential issue).

One to run some test games with!

Been playing with a variation this deck online and at league and it's horrible. Lose way more than I win. Its hard to set up. Mulligans galore and OHKO's on most pokemon before turn 3. I tried all of the suggestions do know avail. Do not play.
