VileKitty Lock

So, this is a surprise tech in Mewbox that utilizes this Spinarak (http://pokebeach.com/scans/heartgold-and-soulsilver/83-spinarak.jpg)
and Vileplume UD. The idea is to LZ a Spinarak early game (via Relicanth, maybe?), Pokemon Catcher up a non-lethal Pokemon (Cleffa, for instance), and Rare Candy an Oddish sitting on your bench. This makes for a nice surprise lock to lock your opponents non-lethal pokemon into an unbreakable lock to either:

a) Stall out the opponent and knock the cleffa out on your last turn.

b) Keep the lock to buy some energy attaching time. Note that your opponent may do the same. Release by knocking out the Cleffa. Problem is that neither of you can use trainers until the Vileplume is knocked out. This option is NOT recommended.

this....wont work...well i guess but why not just run spinarak instead of having mew? ya you lock them but

1. if they dont play cleffa then you fail

2. it makes a long LONG boring game

3. if you stall that long...you better have more cards in your deck than them :p

if either of those 2 happen...your done :p

1) Why do you need to LZ it? Just have it in the deck so you can use Collector and attach the energy if the opportunity presents itself

2) It's not a deck on it's own. It's a 1 card secret weapon that can be teched into any Vileplume variant. I wouldn't bother using Catchers or Reversals, those cards are unusable in Trainer Lock decks and are a waste of space and reduce the consistency of your deck's original purpose. If your opponent just so happens to use Eeeeeek while your Vileplume is out and you're level on prizes, then go in for the lock and secure the win.

You lock him till it's time out and sudden death, and continue locking till he's awake and knock out the Cleffa for the win. Your deck should be able to sustain itself with hand refreshers so you don't deck out.

but a problem is that with eeeeek they will never deck out. thus its just sudden death and they just dont start with cleffa next time so that they win ;D

The three turn rule remember? Once they call time you have 3 turns to act on that poor little cleffa. It's just a tech too, so if you play them again and they DON'T play Cleffa they're not going to be able to draw well, and you have a bunch of other cards too it's not just Spinark to beat them. You get it now?

i guess but it still seems flimsy :p. i think i would rage quit against this deck before i deck out xD

You're stalling for time to be called, not for your opponent to deck out. Once time is called and Cleffa is awake, just retreat and kill it.

And like I've said a few times already, it's not the core of your deck. It is a 1 card tech like Tyrogue. You're not going to lose just because they don't run Cleffa.

Example: You're running a Yanmega/Mew/Vileplume deck with 1 Spinarak tech. You and your opponent exchange prizes and you have your Vileplume set up, then your opponent sends out Cleffa to try and get resources. You notice you're level on prizes so you Collector for the Spinarak and lock his Cleffa and wait for sudden death, using hand refreshers like Judge so you don't deck out. Upon sudden death, just retreat and KO with your attackers.

.....Isn't there another thread on this?

The only plus of LZing the Spinarak and using Mew instead is +20 HP. That wouldn't really matter much, would it?

(Unless you were using Mew to LZ it, then it would make sense cuz it could just be in your deck...but that's why we have collectors)

This deck idea hurts my soul. It is the most cheap, boring thing that you could ever do, at least with a donk you aren't wasting 30 minutes of your life. This sounds like a very effective deck idea though, gotta say, as long as you aren't playing Machamp Prime, you will get the win, although you might get stabbed in the parking lot after the tourney. Keep in mind though, a lot of decks don't play Cleffa or things that are useless, so I doubt that it will be seen on the higher tables. As a one card tech Spinarark is boss, but as a deck...
