In case of Events, you can use Event Lists found in the internet. There's a good one at http://www.serebii.net/. I compare the info and if there's something wrong, its obviously hacked.
For other Pokémon, I use my Micro SD card to save a copy of the Pokémon file on my computer; then, I use the Legality Checker program to check if its hacked or not. The program's output include the ID, Secret ID, IV's, nature, shinyness, ability, Trash Bytes check and of course if its Hacked.
If you don't have a Micro SD card, you cannot save your Pokemon file on your computer, which means you cannot use Legality Checker; but you can always ask me to perform the Hack-Check for you.

and if you save pokemon to your computer then delete them off your game can you get them back to your game?
because that would be great to have backup pokemon on my computer
