This Deck is for after Plasma Blast releases.

Pokemon: 9
  • 4x Virizion EX PlasmaBlast
  • 3x Genesect EX PlasmaBlast
  • 2x Emolga (Call For Family)
Trainers: 38
  • 4x Skyla
  • 4x Professor Juniper
  • 4x N
  • 4x Pokemon Catcher
  • 3x Team Plasma Ball
  • 3x Shadow Triad
  • 3x Colress Machine
  • 3x Tool Scrapper
  • 2x Energy Retrieval
  • 2x Sky Arrow Bridge
  • 2x Ultra Ball
  • 2x Colress
  • 1x Super Rod
  • 1x G Booster PlasmaBlast
Energy: 13
  • 9x Grass Energy
  • 4x Plasma Energy

Thoughts:

However much I may not want to admit it, I think the Eeveelutions are holding back Genesect's true potential. And as such, I have changed the Deck List drastically. It is now pretty much a cookie-cutter ViriGen Deck... -.-

The concept of the Deck is similar to a PlasmaBox, but instead it uses Genesect EX [coupled with G Booster] as the main attacker (His ability is also like a free Catcher) and Eeveelutions as tech options. Leafeon and Flareon are meant to be the main non-Genesect EX attackers, Energy Crush/Vengeance being able to do massive damage in certain situations (Leafeon can pretty much OHKO a Keldeo EX, and Flareon counters Genesect/Virizion as it is Fire.)

I'm using Frozen City as the Stadium as I think/hope people may use less Plasma cards with Plasma Blast, but I doubt it. It's mostly to help snipe off certain targets and to counter Tropical Beach/Virbank City Gym.

Glaceon and Virizion EX are also included as tech options. Glaceon is basically a Float Stone that is immune to Tool Scrapper. And Virizion EX is to counter Hypnotoxic Lasers, since most of your Energy are, or can be considered, Grass.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Cheren, IMO is not a particularly good card. Personally I would replace it with a 4th N and a 4th Catcher as 4 of each is staple in every deck.
Also 14 energy is probably too many. Take out the 2 Grass energy (as you effectively have 8 already), and put in another Ultra Ball and a Shadow Triad to help you get back G-Booster I case you lose it due to Tool Scraper etc.

Hope I helped!

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Changes:
-2 Cheren
-2 Grass Energy
-1 Umbreon
+1 N
+2 Shadow Triad
+1 Pokemon Catcher

Yeah I was considering Shadow Triad, since everyone will be running Tool Scrappers now..

I only put 3 Catchers because Genesect EX's ability is practically a Catcher, but it'd probably be a waste of a Plasma Energy now that I think about it.

I really like Cheren, mostly over Bianca (Even though she is hot :3), since Bianca most times can barely draw 3. But I'll definitely up N to 4. ^.^

The Grass Energy was included just to be able to make use of Virizion's attack, but I guess it's not necessary and just wastes Deck space.

Edited the main post for changes. I dropped Umbreon as I felt he didn't bring much aside from minor utility and gave me too many Eeveelutions to Eevees. Glaceon remains as he is basically a Float Stone that is immune to Tool Scrapper.

I'm considering if I should drop Deoxys EX down to 3, as I feel my Benched Pokemon may become too crowded. Either that or rethink Glaceon/Virizion EX...

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Dropping a Deoxys EX (or 2) is quite a good idea as you can get them out fairly easily when you need them. Perhaps add another Ultra Ball or something else?

And you can't go wrong with 8 Catchers ;)

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Changes:
-1 Deoxys EX
+1 Team Plasma Ball

Yeah, I'll take out 1 Deoxys EX and add maybe a Team Plasma Ball, since Ultra Ball is mainly just to grab Eevee or Virizion EX.

But then again, Ultra Ball serves the dual purpose of also being able to discard Pokemon to bump up Flareon's Vengeance. And I'd hate to end up with only Eeveelutions and a Plasma Ball instead of an Ultra Ball... :p

Do you think this Deck could be viable? I'm not expecting it to be Tier 1 or anything, but maybe Tier 2. ^.^

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

My mistake, I had Darkrai EX in my head for some reaon... Dropping it may not be such a good idea. It depends on how much you need it and if you believe it is necessary to have an extra over something else.

I think in this case Ultra Ball is better.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Oh wow, I'm dumb. I thought Shadow Triad was: "Discard a Team Plasma Card and add a Card from your Discard pile into your Hand.", but apparently it is: "Add a Team Plasma Card from your Discard pile into your Hand." I guess I can't Shadow Triad a Pokemon Catcher. >_<

There's only so many Cards you can have memorized within a few days... :p

PS. Should I maybe squeeze a Tool Scrapper in there somewhere to counter Float Stones/G Booster/Rock Guard/Life Dew?

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

It's not quite that good :p But it's still extremely useful. (You can Dowsing Machine for a Catcher though)

As for Tool Scraper, you can add it in if you can find space for it.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Well at least you can Triad G Booster if it gets Scrapped. And I also realized G Booster allows Genesect EX to bypass Klinklang as well ^.^

And I am entertaining the idea of replacing 1 Prism Energy with a Double Colorless.

I wish I could play this Deck, but gotta wait until Plasma Blast releases... >_<
I could change it, but one of the main aspects is Flareon OHKO'ing Genesect/VirizionEX's, so yeah... Gotta wait.
(Any ideas for a playable pre-PlasmaBlast version? :p I am quite an impatient person...)

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

You could always find someone to build a proxied ViriziGen deck to play against, either in real life or on PlayTCG. And a couple if DCE would be very good at making Flareon more consistent.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Someone mentioned running all Special Energies may not be so smart if the enemy uses Enhanced Hammer or Coballion EX. Most of the Pokemon use Grass or Colorless, the only attacks needing something else is Deoxys and Flareon's Heat Tackle(Which OHKO's Viriz/Gen.) So I may just drop Prism Energies entirely.

I run 3x Sableye/3x Enhanced Hammers.So..Yeh,you need some basic energy. Did i see level balls in your deck? You would need them for Eeve. That way you can attach Stage 1's Kay! :)

Quick note: dropping Prism Energy is a good idea for your stage 1 eeves

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Changes:
-4 Prism Energy
-1 Team Plasma Ball
-1 Colress Machine
+4 Grass Energy
+1 Ultra Ball

Ultra Balls are for Eevee/Virizion. I upped them to 3. I was shying away from Level Balls as they couldn't target both Virizion AND Eevee, also the Discard could fuel Flareon's Vengeance. But you don't always have the privilege to Discard, so I may consider swapping an Ultra for a Level Ball.

Frozen City. The main problem is using Signs of Evolution on Eevee, if City is up, that's damage counters on Eevee. So it's really only useful AFTER you've gotten all the Eeveelutions you want in hand. May consider Pokemon Center if it becomes a trouble/hindrance.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

what about deoxys? don't you think it will clog up your bench?

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

Do the Colress Machine's not speed up your attacks? Flareon is a Plasma Pokemon right?

He's one of the main Pokemon of the Deck, since it gives +10 to all per Deoxys on Bench. Optimally I'd have Genesect EX as Active, 3x Deoxys, Flareon or Leafeon, and Virizion or Glaceon depending on the utility I needed that game, on the Bench. Besides, Deoxys is a good attacker in his own right.

Hmm, crap, maybe I shouldn't have dropped that too much. Maybe up to 2, 3 may be much though. My thinking was that if I had Plasma Energies in Hand, already played, or Prized, Colress Machines would be useless. But yeah, they do speed it up... Hmm.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

I think 2 is a good number, but it would require testing. Although seeing as you don't have any DCE 3 might be a good play.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

The only one who makes use of DCE is Flareon's second attack. I thought it was too situational to include over the other Energies, but we'll have to see.

At this stage the only thing left to do is test and fine tune it. That way I can get a better grasp of what should be changed. I dropped Plasma Ball and added a Colress Machine, I've also got my eye on Shadow Triad, not sure how useful he'll be.

RE: Plasma Eevee/Genesect

I've been reevaluating the cards in this Deck, and I've come to the realization that Deoxys wasn't doing much but being Catcher/KnockOut bait. And for what, 10 extra damage? Genesect's normal attack can 2 shot almost anyone, and his Ace Spec attack can OHKO [almost] anyone. Even 40 extra damage from 4 Deoxys on the Bench wouldn't change either of those...

And however much I may not want to admit it, I think the Eeveelutions may end up holding back Genesect's true potential. I've added 2x Umbreon and an extra Glaceon (because I've come to rely on that free Retreat cost more than I expected, and I'm remiss to use a Float Stone because everyone will be running 2-3 Tool Scrappers in the new Meta) to hopefully support my Genesect. I added another Virizion, as I want to have that Hypnotoxic Laser immunity more reliably. And a Mr. Mime to protect my slightly squishy Bench of Eeveelutions from any possible Bench damage.

I am still not sure if the Eeveelutions merit their place in the Deck, or if other cards may be more useful, but we'll have to see with testing.
Another interesting thing of note, Genesect EX's G Booster attack can bypass Silver Mirror, which a ton of people are considering using as an Anti-Meta card.. :p

Update: Dropped the Eeeveelutions and made it more a cookie-cutter Virizion/Genesect Deck. Using Emolga to fill Bench.
