I need a ruling on Latias EX's ability in regards to attacks from Virizion EX and Genesect EX. Latias' ability prevents all effects from attacks down to it, but, can Virizion still attach the two energy to a benched pokemon, because it isn't to Latias? Same with Genesect EX. Can it still do damage to a benched pokemon, or are they both considered effects, and prevented by Latias' ability?

It just blocks effects done to latias. the bench damage/effects still happen unless something else blocks it. Like amime for bench damage or your own benched latias ex for the energy acceleration. (If you target a benched latias ex or sigilyph drx with virizion, you still search for grass energy, but it gets discarded if you don't fail the search)

First, use PokeBeach's scans. We have them available just for this purpose. Links changed.

Latias EX includes the phrase your opponent's Pokemon. Therefore, Virizion EX can still attach to it. Genesect EX will do no damage to it.~KA

What if an opponent is attacking my Latias EX with their Virizion EX? Can they still attach energy to their own pokemon?

They can. Bright Down only blocks parts of the attack against the Latias:

Emerald Blade does 50 damage to the Defending Pokemon (blocked)
and attaches 2 Grass Energy from the deck to the bench (not against Latias, not blocked)
