RE: Might as Well: Vulpix's Art Thread! Updated 10/25/12
+++++PLEASE READ+++++++
~~Maybe not the kind of update you'd expect, but I'd like to run a few things by you guys and I hope you'll read it! ~~
My grandma just got me a pack of acrylic paints! I might do some paintings of my OCs or something.
*does a happy dance*
I'd also love to have a contest for a banner for this lil' ol' thread of mine. I'll get to that later.
And I've started on a comic with my friends that's sort-of become an unintentional steampunk story, which is pretty darn cool. It's going to be about a dystopian future society in which all humans are the same and the aliens that are controlling everybody are...well, controlling everybody. (+1 English points for summaries right there.) All creativity has been outlawed, but there are a group of people that have started an underground society for the artists, the dreamers and the performers. So there are secret art galleries, secret concerts and musicals and that's where our heroes come in. The three main characters range from seventeen to twenty, and they are good friends who are very involved in this creative community.
Now the aliens have a thing for human history, so they're constantly observing and reading about humans and their history. They make it so that the humans can only choose from one type of style of clothing/jewelry/makeup ect.
The aliens dress like Victorian-era humans and go around in steampunk-ly-designed-mechanically-horse-drawn-carriages. I got to design them and their outfits by the way. They're a mix of modern fashion and Victorian-era fashion. XDD
Anyway so if the aliens catch you doing something creative or showing some type of individuality they'll steal your voice and then kill you, then using your voice somehow against you, depending on the offense. They will either copy your voice and maybe spread a rumor or tell someone something about you that's particularly negative or they'll kill you entirely and make it sound like a suicide.
So obviously, our heroes are the rebels. There are the brothers Claude and Victor, whose parents were clockmakers.
Then there's Saki whose parents were killed in a secret theater massacre by the aliens. They all dress with hints of the aliens' trademark steampunk style (say, a gear earring or a clockwork design or something somewhere on their clothes or body) The three meet up while getting paired together for a huge blockbuster underground musical. Saki, Victor and Claude suggest that they try to make a hit on the aliens by unveiling the musical aboveground and having the rest of the humans rediscover their love of entertainment and creativity, what used to power them and make them feel alive. This is somewhat of a subplot but it's very important. And of course there are plenty of major conflicts in which each character must overcome, and plenty of plot twists. I'll end up posting pieces involving this currently unnamed project soon. (we've only been working on it for a few days)

I figured I'd have a banner contest for this thread so here it goes:
I'd like whoever wants to take part design a banner that reminds you of me. So whatever it is that reminds you of me or my work or whatever, then try to make a banner that projects that.
You guys will vote and stuff and first prize winner will get a couple of sketches of them or their characters or whatever they like.
