Ok im probably gonna get flamed for this but i am with Galefail on this one. I know this pretty much counts as a one line post but i think Gale really has made his point. I think that everything he has said makes sense. In fact i don't have to say anything, he pretty much said what i would have said except he said it better than i would have. lol

It's stupid, we're fighting for peace, and losing lots of lives in the proess ;p I don't see why these countrys can't try to ignore each other.

Get out of this thread if your post is going to say something as stupid as this. I want to slap you right now. Not just in this instance, but through history wars have been going on. If you were to just "ignore" them, Europe would have never been stable enough to keep seperate countries, America would have never formed, and the world would be in only 2 groups. The powerful vs. the weak. The powerful countries would be manipulating eachother until they conquer the weak. It would still be on-going and your little life going on pogeymanz forums would never exist. Sometimes, taking risk, sacraficing, is how to gain. Take the middle ages, back when The Church was the most powerful government and economic body. Their Religion taught that no man shall ever have the right to take another man's life. To contridict that act though, they were killing thousands of people who did not believe in Christianity. This was to make stabilty in the area and to gain more power to control more and more of Europe. Fighting multiple wars was the key in changing the Dark Ages into the development of the Modern Time. If the people were to "ignore" eachother, we would probably be thousands of years behind the reality of today.

Bacon, agree with your post.

It's good to see some people making logically sound posts on here, thanks to what can be assumed as a lack of right wing conservatives.

If I had to reply to the topic at hand I'd post most of Bacon's thoughts as they are the arguments/facts I often use for such a debate. The invasion of any country based on a relatively small terrorist attack is just not logical. What makes it worse is when you decide to hop between bordering countries making the general public assume it's all part of one mission to capture the target at hand when really the military just sets off on a strategic tangent.

There have been far too many deaths in this war than there should have been, innocent children, soldiers the lot. Yes the 9/11 attack should have warranted diplomatic interjection on an intelectual scale but instead it was met with a hot headed approach which involved acting without thinking.
