RE: Wednesday, 3/12, All "DP5: Temple of Angery, Cry from the Mysterious" Set Scans

I. Love. This. Set.

(So far, at least! :p) As everyone already said, Jirachi = awesome. It's almost like our new Smooth Over Magcargo except this ends your turn. But the second attack is sweet, too. Combo it with Ariados, maybe? I don't think anything else has a power that hinders retreats.

Lovin' the art, too! The Lv.Xs look beasty.

I wonder... This set is two subsets right? So does that mean like DP5 you get all the Lv. Xs in the box you buy from that set.

RE: Wednesday, 3/12, All "DP5: Temple of Angery, Cry from the Mysterious" Set Scans

Jirachi=Too Broken

Politoad=Thank you.... thank you thank you thank you! :O

The lv.x's=Not all that glamerous.

Okay set, overall. I just don't like the lv.x's, that's all :O

I'M DIFFERENT :O OMG

TM TS-2
Technical Machine

Choose one of your opponent's Evolved Pokemon and return the highest stage evolution card to your opponent's hand.

How could this happen ?

Froslass could be seeing a lot of play... (Discarding a Psychic energy so on your next turn if it gets KOed so does the opponent.) Armaldo is AWSOME!!! Dragonite is pretty cool. And last but not least, Giratina looks like a good late-battle helper.

Like many people have previously said, I like the artwork too. I was hoping Kingdra would be good, and it looks like it's not half-bad. Mespirit isn't as good as people have said, and Jirachi and Politoed are extremely broken. I see Jirachi becoming a tech/starter and if it can find a good combo, Politoed will see a lot of play too.

dmaster out.

Forgot to post this, Kingdra says Energy, so, does it mean DRE counts as 2 ?

RE: Wednesday, 3/12, All "DP5: Temple of Angery, Cry from the Mysterious" Set Scans

Wow, too many broken cards in this set already.

Jirachi: Broken but the 2nd attack's effect can be avoided if you retreat your Active Pokemon...
Dragonite: Even though it needs 4 energy for its 2nd attack but the effect is insane. Play this against decks that uses Pachirisu GE as their starter...
Frosslass: Finally, this card comes out. :D Destiny Bond returns, yay. It can be a stalling attack & its 2nd attack is good..
Armaldo: Its Poke-Body is insane. This card maybe a good against T2 decks, since T2 decks don't inflict a lot of damage..

The Lake Trio LV Xs is not that impressive except for Azelf LV X but the artwork is nice... :D

the arts for the cards are just way awesome....best i've ever seen

Ninjask and Shedinja are just cool and great. Ninjasks Chip Off isn't great, but Shedinja is just brutal. You get a more powerful Cure Powder in Power form, and you place damage counters, which can get around a few annoying effects. And they both have free retreat cost.
Kingdra should be good, but I think it might be a bit too under powered. Upstre... er, Aqua Stream seems decent enough, but getting the energies into the discard pile might be a bit tough (unless we still have Delcatty PK in the format when this card is released). Dragon Pump should be good (40 for 1!), but having to discard 2 for the extra effect isn't good. Of course, works well with Aqua Stream.
Ditto will be fun.
Uxie Lv.X isn't that bad. You basically get a free PokéDex Handy 909is every turn, which isn't bad. To be honest, playing a Mespirit Lv.X deck could work, they are all quite good Lv.X's.
How to counter Jirachi - retreat. There, not so good after all. Lonely Dream isn't good. Magcargo was good because Smooth Over was a Poké-Power, not an attack.
Armaldo kills GG late game (go on, try and Psychic Cut for 60.) Unown G makes it even more so.
Spiritbomb is kind of nice. It is essentially a Jolteon Ex in basic form, but only adds damage to your opponents Pokémon with any damage counters on already. Mind you, that's not a bad thing.
Froslass is quite nice. Destiny Bond creates a nice little situation for your opponent to think about. Crobat (MT) might be a little more prominent than. However, Icy wind is nice. Sleep and either 40 (which for WC isn't bad) or 10 damage spread. Could be nice with Spiritbomb actually.
Poliwrath is quite nice. However, you have to make sure you aren't attacked last turn for a 60 for F attack. Makes a nice revenge KO. The second attack is hardly bad either, though I don't like self damage.
I don't know whether or not I like Politoad. Even if you need one of each in play for the Poké-Body to work, that extra 60 damage is still quite nice. Maybe it would just be too slow to work well.
I'll update about other cards later.

Wow Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit will become the basic pokemon techs in almost every deck.
However, I can see a very strong and consistent deck out of those cards with their Lv.X forms, but it needs to find a way to kill that Mewtwo Lv.X.
They finally made something to counter Gallade, but seriously I think they went a bit too far.
It is a very nice set anyways.

Jirachi+Dailga lv.X, the ultimate combo. XD

On a side note, Politoed is not that broken anymore. =[

Poor Politoed that really stinks that they had to water it down considerably. Cause who wants to leave a poliwag sitting on the bench, it's almost like it's crying "look i'm bring down bait come get me"

I quite like the look of Vileplume, with a nice Poison or Sleep definite Poké-Power. Where is Weezing (DX) when you need it? I suppose we will have to do with Gengar (DP) for a Poison KO (hopefully) every turn.
Victreebel isn't bad, with Poison and Burn for nothing, plus switching if you wanted to. Energy Solvent isn't bad either, with a discard at the end of their turn (but it is the same sort of thing as Jirachi). I suppose either of them could be comboed with Ariados (MT) to try and keep their Pokémon in the active slot. Could work.
Tentacruel could be nice little trickster, being able to get energies from the discard and attaching them to your opponents Pokémon. All card that do stuff according to how many energies your opponent has *coughAzlefLv.Xcough*, or even with Tentacruels second attack. I'm definately going to have to think of a good deck for it.
Lanturn is quite nice, with a 30 damage spread for L. Maybe with Tentacruel?
I really like Gliscor. at least now Gliscor Lv.X has a good pre-evolution. However, you need to make sure you can affect them with a special condition, so Gliscor Lv.X or maybe even Crobat (MT) as a combo.
I really like Grumpig's first attack, Confusion and possible 6 damage counters. Not bad, but maybe too risky to be good.
There maybe some other good cards in the set, but these are the best ones I saw while looking at them that I haven't talked about before.

I could see Starmie being played somewhat. 50 for 1 Energy? And a Snipe? Broken. And most pokemon now a day have PokePowers.
Armaldo seems interesting. If played in swarms, I could see it doing well against GG (Unown G will be played with it of course).
Grumpig, now there is a fun card. I could see T2Grumpig, with a combonation of Grumpig MD and CG. Stall with MD, kill with CG.
Victereebell was my favorite pokemon when LM came out. I will definatly be making some deck with it. Probably with either Ariadoes or Lickylicky.
Tentacruel could do well against Magmorter, since with Lake Boundary it OHKO's Magmorter and Magmorter Lv.X (120 and then since Magmorters pile energy on, Tentacruel Poisons FTKO).
Kingdra with Delcatty EX could see play. Or Kingdra/Regice.
The Regi's aren't half bad this time around, especially Regice. I could see them as techs in Blissey.
Kyogre/Groundon will greatly speed up Water and Fighting decks. Groundon/Ryhperior anyone?
Frosslass is intersting. I could see it with Gardevoir PK. Just pile on damage onto it so that it could be KO'd, then Destiny Bond so that both pokemon are KO'd.
Since GG decks pile loads of cards into there hands, I could see Exegutor MD played with it. Plus is usefull for droping of DRE's when needed.
Unown R lets you move all your energies around. Awesome!
