"We're No Angels" has got to be the weirdest episode I've ever seen:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoupIR423SE

Everyone seems to have a screw loose and the situation itself is so odd. What do you think is the oddest episode and why?

I thought it was nice for James that he actually got attention from a girl other than someone who abuses him. XD

I actually thought it was quite the nice episode. I enjoyed most, if not all, chronicles. They were a nice twist to the main series and I enjoyed seeing what other characters were up to when they weren't around Ash and his friends.

The oddest episodes are usually ones where a random Pokemon plays tricks on the gang, or everyone acts silly for whatever reason.

I don't know why WPM picked that particular episode though, but I imagine its because he hasn't watched much of the anime since the DP era.

My own experience with the anime is pretty spotty, but for full out weird I have to nominate Abra and the Psychic Showdown and Haunter vs. Kadabra. It's Ash's (and therefore the audience's) first experience with Psychic-type Pokémon, and they really make them seem incredibly creepy and otherworldly, especially with Sabrina's psychic powers, too. Oddly enough, the Psychic Pokémon are treated more creepily than the Ghost-type Pokémon we get in the episode between these two; the Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar trio are really just pranksters. Of course, everything ends out nicely in the end and Sabrina and her dad are reunited, but still... very weird.

Speaking of creepy Psychic-type Pokémon and weirdest episodes.. Who remembers the one where Hypno made all the kids think they were Pokémon. THAT was weird.

That happens to be one of my favourite episodes! :D

Not sure if this has been said yet,
But the ep where at the end Ash gets transformed into a pikachu.
Weirdest thing ever....

I remember that episode! It was from some kind of potion. Was it the one with Shuckle?

I thought that was pretty weird as well! I wonder if they could use it to turn into Arceus.

Beauty And The Beach.

Why does this exist in the first place? Nintendo knows that kids watch this. Japan or not, there's no excuse for this kind of content.

Wait, what? I think you have it backwards. Ash's over-powered, once beat a Golem and a Rhydon with Electric attacks, deus ex machina (otherwise known as Pikachu) lost to Trip's freshly-caught Snivy.

As for weirdest episode, uhhh, Holiday Hi-Jynx? The one during Season 1 with Santa Claus and the potentially racist-looking Jynx. Yes, the banned from American TV one.

Yeah that's what I meant. Either way it was a stupid loss.

I think that was a good depiction of Gen 1 psychic types. Psychic type pokemon in Gen 1 are really OP. You got to teach people about the games. This episode probably teaches one of the best tips for Gen 1 pokemon. If you are facing Sabrina without a Psychic or a Good Bug(Kind of a Oxymoron for Gen 1) type pokemon you are gonna have a rough time.

Also you guys are picking some of my favorites. Beauty and the Beach(Because of the WTF factor) and Creepy Hypno Episode are pretty much top 5 material.

I thought the ghost of maiden's peak was a weird episode. Pokémon ghosts I can deal with, but human ghosts are another story! In every other episode everything that was "haunted" was caused by (ghost) Pokémon. I think this is the only episode where we saw a real ghost.
