Pokemon Weirdest Pokémon sprites?

Accidentally: For sure not. How stupid do you think they are at GameFreak? Ever heared about testing? It's possible that they first designed (on paper) Venonat => Butterfree as a line, but even if they did, they knowingly made it so they aren't related.PsychedelicBreakfast said:

Take a look at this. The Caterpie-line was put into the game one after another, no mistake (123-125). They put Pokémon into the code pretty much in the order they were designed.
It is, it is. Their sprites got switched accidentally. IMHO about 60% of the Green sprites are half-baked splotches of pixels. Case in point? Venusaur getting killed by that huge flower, Vileplume having looong dangling arms and being skinny and the most LOL? Wigglytuff. Seriously, nothing every comes close to those eyes...anybody seen it?

I also wouldn't say Venomoth is *clearly* a moth. It resembles a swallowtail butterfly (Caterpie is based off the tiger swallowtail caterpillar) with the two "tails" on its wings. Its Japanese name is Morphon, which Bulbapedia and other sources say may come from the butterfly genus Morpho.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but this is one of the Pokemon theories that I do believe.

Never said you don't know how to read. I pointed out that you said it isn't *clearly* a moth, despite its species name being poison moth and the name having moth in it.
Also, the proof supporting your claim that the sprites were accidentally switched is shoddy at best; in fact, there are many reasons supporting the contrary. While it isn't a baseless claim, you can hardly call it an obvious one.
So I'm not completely off topic:
^You guys and you habbit of using the pokémon names as evidence... Does Doduo look like a dodo? I don't think so... Beedrill is a wasp while Vespiquen is a queen bee, how about that?

Yeah, R/B Golbat gave me the creeps growing up. I preferred it's Green incarnation, which looks like it's "tipsy/drunk".

I know. I was being facetious.
Obvious is a strong word. I shouldn't have used it. I do, however, still believe Butterfree was originally Venonat's evolution. How they were switched, or why they changed their mind, whatever, I don't know. I may be in the minority, but it's still what I think.
