RE: Werewolf XX: Seleno City - Night 6 ends Sunday March 9 at 5 PM EST
It seemed to the people of Seleno City that it took weeks just for the sun to set, because it was so long. But in reality, it was only an hour, because how would that even be possible? Exactly.
------------------------------------------------
Father Mackenzie knelt down on a pew to pray as his guest paced back and forth along the aisles. She didn't seem as nervous as she did anxious, as if she was just waiting for something to happen. The priest took out a rosary and held it in his hands.
"Heavenly Father, protect us this night from the evil that lurks within this city," he prayed. "Help these innocent people to make it through the dark of night. In your name, amen."
"You done with that, yet?" interrupted the woman.
"Patience, Ms. Sanders," he replied. "There's no point in worrying. We will be safe, I assure you."
Jacqueline cocked her head in the direction of the door. "You hear that? Sounds like someone - or something - is out there."
"The door will hold," he said. "I've reinforced it with wooden boards, and the organ is in front of it. Nothing, not even a werewolf, will be making it through there."
Sure enough, a pounding noise began to come from the other side of the door, and the sounds of something struggling to break the door open were heard. After about a minute, it stopped, and Father Mackenzie finally spoke.
"See? I told you that everything would be alright."
Just then, out of nowhere, the boards holding the door closed splintered into hundreds of shards of wood, spraying the two of them, and the old organ was pushed hard off to the side. A hulking werewolf with bulging muscles climbed in through the makeshift opening, and eyed the priest and his companion.
"That should have held any of the werewolves back!" Father MacKenzie exclaimed, sweat beginning to trickle down his neck in fear.
"Well yeah, clearly it didn't," remarked Jacqueline. "I'll do what I can to distract him, you get out of here while you can." The werewolf was still staring at them. But it was resting for a few seconds, recovering from the incredible burst of strength that it used to break through the barrier.
"You have to come with me!" he said. "I refuse to leave any brother or sister behind."
"Oh yeah? Well if you don't leave this sister here, then I won't be the only one not making it out alive. Now get going, we don't have too much time," she instructed.
Father Mackenzie turned towards the rear exit, ready to make his escape. "God bless," he said, before running as fast as his legs could take him. Behind Jacqueline, the wolf began growling as it stood up again, ready for a fight.
"Well, well, little wolfie," she said in a mocking tone. "It looks like court is in session, and I'm ready to prosecute!"
------------------------------------------------
When Father Mackenzie returned the next morning to his church, along with a group of the other citizens, he found her body laid out in the middle of the central aisle, dead. There were blood stains around her, and she held one of the sharpened pieces from the wooden boards in her hand, also bloody.
If only we were fighting vampires, he thought,
then maybe she would have had a chance. He looked around at the mess, and turned to the crowd behind him. "I promise that this will not happen again," he said. "I will make sure that I keep the innocent safe from harm, I swear it."

Before heading to the city hall, everyone stopped to check the latest news update. This morning's news report read as follows: "Good morning everyone, this is Melissa Stone reporting for Seleno News. MTC is scum. He's lying, I'm Keeper."
When they arrived, they began to prepare for another day of lynching.
