I reckon I understand enough of the game to know how most new players play. There were a few in Melee, and I've gone back to look through older threads, and I can get a general idea from how the rest of you imply new players play.

Big omgus from Jabber...

Your posts last game were decent, substantial, and helpful. Your first few posts in this game were all wagons and now you're omgus'ing hard.

Trying to figure out if claiming would change anything; scum being given safe claims makes me think no, but here it is anyway.

Duskull
Alignment: Town

You are Duskull, the ghostly banker of Treasure Town. You assure customers that their money will be at peace in your care, even if forever… which is kind of creepy. But perhaps there may be some truth to that, and who knows, it just might be revealed and be of use in the current crisis.

Special Ability: Duskull the Eternal Ghost
When you die in any manner, you can still post in the thread and vote (you will be part of the total player count to determine the majority). However, you may no longer move across the Dungeon and use Items. You will no longer be affected by any Ability or Item from the remaining living players. However, you will still count as a dead Town-aligned player for any other necessary game purposes.

Passive Ability: Levitate
Since you are not in contact with the ground or the Tiles, you will not get affected by Traps.

Win Condition: Eliminate all non-Town aligned players

I find it super odd that the Special Ability doesn't activate according to the player, but instead activates a lot like a passive. But then Jabber reiterating that the claim shouldn't change anything when the claim is in fact a bit off makes me pretty sure he is an anti-town.

I too thought special abilities were activated... Op says not all special abilities have a usage.

Other than that, his role is scummy and generally unproveable until he dies.

Kon said what I was thinking in that darkrai potentially lives after death (we don't know is win con soo...)
My vote is staying for now.

The only way I can think of to prove my Ability would be to be on whatever tile happens to be a Trap tile at the start of the next Night. But I can't know which is a Trap tile and which isn't.

Also, no idea about the Special Ability; PMing Reinforce about it now.

Jabber's claim is weird. I haven't played much WW games but that special ability is pretty..special. If he is scum or indie, it is basically useless, thus the real role should be completely different. Something that might be extremely dangerous if it cannot be changed slightly to appear towny.

Honestly, I don't think Jabber is scum. I would imagine that he would be playing more carefully as a new scum. His claim also makes a lot of sense to me.

TFP is a better option.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock into the whole special ability thing. Scum were given safeclaims, and so far everyone has had one special ability and one passive ability.

I don't think Jabber is being coached by scum, whether he is scum or not. In Melee he was a mason with KoN and they used their QT quite rarely; KoN was possibly more to blame here, though.

Since we haven't got the postgame up yet (which is mostly my fault x_x) I'll just say here that I was super impressed with Jabber's play in Melee and I think he's got really good instinct for this game. Unfortunately he's not spoken up much in this game, mostly because Camo has completely oppressed him every time he has tried to. @Jabberwock, try to ignore him and keep contributing well! <3
...You know, if we're suspecting that Darkrai may stick around after death, that seems a great way to put it into a safe-claim.
This makes no sense, as Darkrai would still almost certainly flip Darkrai when they die. There's no use in him still being able to talk in-thread if he's an indie.

@Camoclone, your role isn't "more likely" to be scum, it's exclusively scum. Never have I ever seen it on a townie. On the topic of Camo, why did everyone assume that he is Spinda of all Pokemon? I'm pretty sure they are a Pokemon in the town, sure, but personally I didn't think Spinda even had Tangled Feet, as it is something pretty much exclusive on bird Pokemon. When I saw Camo's claim I immediately thought that he was Chatot, who sure enough does have Tangled Feet and who is one of the biggest names in the series besides Grovyle and Wigglytuff. I don't doubt at all that Camo's safe claim is a Spinda, though. I'm just going to go back and see who originally said he's a Spinda so that when Camo flips scum we'll know that his scumbuddy slipped by assuming there weren't any other probable Pokemon species with the ability.

Not necessarily. It could be a decently standard mafia role like ninja (can't be tracked or watched) or strongman (nightkill can't be blocked). These both scream scum and can't really be adapted onto a town role. And Camo's role is a buffed ninja, so why we're even having this discussion right now is beyond me. Camo is scum. And this push on Jabberwock is unbelievably fast when no one has presented anything even reminiscent of a case on him. I don't think Jabber is scum, though I don't townread him super hard either right now. Hopefully he'll have more confidence to speak up more when Camo doesn't shove a cushion over his mouth every time he takes in a breath to talk.

@bbninjas, saying "possible scum coaching" whenever a new player does something good is not only flawed logic but actually create disinterest in the game for said newer players. Essentially you're rebranding being towny as a scumtell, which is a huge catch 22 and very WIFOMy.

I agree that Jabber has OMGUS'd on Camo here, though I don't think this makes him anti-town. @Jabberwock, who are your top 3 scum reads?

On the topic of Camo, why did everyone assume that he is Spinda of all Pokemon? I'm pretty sure they are a Pokemon in the town, sure,
Just reread and should reiterate that I meant the town square in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games here, not the town faction in ww. I think it's a scumclaim here.
