After some thinking, I wondered why TGK's claim felt a little familiar. Looking back, I realized it's similar to the Duskull role in the game I hosted, where the dead player (Jabber) could vote and post after death; only his version is more nerfed. However, this doesn't mean he's completely cleared, only that his claimed role is not too implausible. As it stands though, since no third-party confirmation is coming, the possibility that it's a safe claim is still higher than it being a true role, I think.
@Reinforce If I may ask, could you give me a summary on what happened in Werewolf game XXVIII? I dunno about the roles. I'm not asking anyone what their character can do or even who it is. I'm curious wether there are any characters from the games Dual Destinies / Apollo Justice, This way we can narrow the list of possible characters. Which at some point may be useful for the town to unravel mason groups. scum will always want to lynch someone that is not one of them, it's not hard for them to pick someone innocent because we are the mayority. Is knowing the identity of a townsfolk going to make much of a difference to that? Well I'm not so sure either if a character list will do good, because of my lack of expierence. But I don't see much harm, even the judge can be scum and we still have no idea how their evidence and ability will work.
Long story short, almost everyone was hinting at their role's identity without anyone else pressuring or asking them to do so, such that by the end of Day 2, we the scum team back then already had an idea about the ability/role of around 15 out of the 21 players. It wasn't entirely what led to the town loss, but it was a major contributing factor. The main downside of it (for town) was that we knew who we needed to kill quickly and who was okay to leave alive (mainly those with abilities that wouldn't hinder or expose scum).
What you should take away from this is that early in the game, making people reveal their role or ability, even with just a minor hint like which game their character came from (they would inadvertently do so in order to confirm or answer your question) ... unless it's absolutely necessary, it can be detrimental. Making a list of characters is good and yes, it will be useful later on when we have confirmed roles, but right now you can only keep that list aside.
@thegrovylekid already said that everyone in his group is town, so if he flips town then everyone he says is in the group is cleared. Though I will say it's pretty suspect that
no one has stepped forward to back him up.
Exactly why the possibility that his claim is a safe claim still exists, and a high chance at that. But yeah, if it's true and once it gets confirmed and people reveal, we get 1-2 clears. It's not that bad of a trade-off if you ask me. Plus, TGK can still contribute. Judging by the possible outcomes of whatever he flips, there will be a benefit to us, so it's a low risk lynch. As far as D1 lynches go, that's better than most. I'll be placing my vote now because I'll be off at work by the end of Day.
