^If you'd hadn't topdeck that Palmer's, I would've gotten an extra turn to topdeck that Gyarados and KO Haunter >:0

I prefer both Registeel and Regice in Gyarados. IMO, it's the best discarder since Junk Arm isn't searchable, and Volkner's can't be played when you can't draw. Plus, it's the fastest, being Collector-searchable. In case one is prized, I can use the other (I'd rather not Time Walk the Regi if there is another Pokemon in the prizes) and against SP, when I want to KO the active, Registeel becomes useful.

^It was very close.

Instead I could just have two Regice. Registeel can (occasionally) be used as a wall though, because it restores HP.

Also you can't use Junk Arm in Trainer Lock but you can use the Regi's.

I'd still go for at least one Registeel, since back at States I kept on having to Regi Move the Luxray out when I didn't want to. Registeel is better for Gyarados against SP, where you want to KO the active.

But still, it all comes down to preference.

Luxray could make Gengar hurt. You dodge fainting spell with it and get cheap prizes. You can even kill Vileplume if you're fast enough to attach to Uxie.

I run dos and I also thought of the vilegar threat and then i thought about a wonderful thing called dialga G lv X. it kills all pokebodies, and is quite useful for luxchomp match-ups. all the luxchomp i've seen played have all used lucario gl to make dos x2 weak to lightning then OHKO dos. with dialga G X you no longer have to worry about it. usually in dos (especially if your going for disruption or easy prizes) you'll run warp point or switch or warp energy or something that will get dialga not your active. in the mean time if you are playing vilegar and they have you under trainer lock use regice to discard them essentially defeating the purpose of the trainer lock.

Correction: Dialga G Lv.X kills all non-SP Poke Bodies. The only way to deal with Lucario is bring it Active somehow and kill it.

oh thank you for the catch dmaster i forgot about that. but i still stick to my guns that a dialga tech would perhaps be better than a luxray tech in dos. dialga kills vilegar while luxray helps kill luxchomp. but in the long run dos will always destroy luxchomp (even without luxray as a tech) because dos can recover from KO's much faster than luxcomp can. essentially dos and luxchomp trade blows for a couple turns until luxchomp has to play aarons collection or something and re-set up while dos uses rescue energy, pokemon rescue in combo with bebe's or luxball and broken time space to be reset up essentially on the dos players next turn...after every turn if need be.

It's really which deck gets the better start in the end. Luxray OHKOs Gyarados every time (even if Gyara has a Belt), while Gyara must have a Belt to OHKO Luxray. With those odds, if you don't have a way to recover Gyarados every turn, it loses.

the only thing about that is that luxray is only going to be able to do that twice...then aarons collection. whereas with dos at worst you'll only be able to set up 2 dos before relying on drawing into rescues and whatnot but most of the time you have a chance to set up dos 3-4 times after the initial KO. sure luxchomp may have taken 4 prizes but they wont have anything left to really attack with, maybe sniping with garchomp, but with hunter and scoops, sniping shouldnt be much to worry about, especially if they have played snowpoint temple, giving all those basics dos will have on the bench an extra turn to live. i'm not saying luxchomp isn't a match for dos, but if played correctly dos can win regularly..unless it gets the misfortune of having, oh i dont know, 3 karps prized (happened to me against a charizard deck last time i played dos at battle roads),thats always been a bit of a problem for dos that is somewhat hard do work around, multiple karps prized

pokeblower is so good v. LuxChomp...
i played against it and it screws up the trading, plus you can't spray it and it helps b/c it's like a bat w/ a flip that can't be sprayed, also if the guy didn't run blower i would've steamrolled him, so based on personal experience play that(i'm 4-2 v. g-dos this year 2 losses were to guys w/ blowers.)

Please see this deck Gyarados fast. I think people should start making decks to see faster to build as soon as possible the game!
Stay well everyone! = D
