BW/BW2 What Changes Would you Make to Black/White?

I think there should be a better bag system. The current one is just garbage. Also, I'd rather have the bottom screen like the way it was in HGSS, or at least an option for it. C-Gear is completely useless to me at times and I'd rather have my bad and stuff easily accesible. Changing the style of the frame would also be a nice little touch.

Stuff like the Frontier and Gym Rematches won't be in Black and White because they would have less special content for the third game giving you less reason to buy it. They honestly could slap those features in but they would not just so they can make a good marketing strategy. By now you guys should have noticed that because it's always the third game that has gym rematches.

@Riskbreakers

That is true but the focus of the topic is on what changes you would make, not "are you aware of why Gamefreak doesn't already have gym rematches in bW", I'm fully aware of it, and I still would maintain that having rematches in BW is a change I would make to Black/White. I am not Gamefreak, and I do not operate on a marketing strategy identical to theirs.

@ darkvoid i actually like the c-gear down there. ill be playing while we are driving somewhere and ill connect to someone lol its amazing and helarious. also i just made all my bag shortcuts to y so i can go right to where i need to go in the bag...cause i constantly use max repels. did i mention the amount of times you run into poke. MY GOD they needed to chill out on the pokemon encounters. we get it its a new region and you want us to see your new poke but dang every 3 steps GF? thus why i have over 500 max repels....

They should just bring the basic stuff back.

L=A option
Different Frames
Touch screen to progress conversation
Touch screen for the menu without pressing X

It's those little things that make BW a bit bad IMO. Hopefully it can be done because those were good stuff even if we don't notice it.

@Xie
It's just annoying that people keep on reiterating the same thing even when most are aware of why it's being done.

Well if 10 people say that they want gym rematches, it just mean there's 10 guys in this thread who would implement it to the game if it were up to them. It just means the idea is popular.

It's not annoying if the same idea gets raised several times, nobody said anything about not being allowed to raise an idea if someone else already said it beforehand. And whether or not they know why Gamefreak didn't put in gym rematches has nothing to do with it. I knew. And I still went ahead and said I'd put in gym rematches, right there on the first page of this thread. Note that it is not mandatory for people to suggest ideas for changes that are only within the scope of gamefreak's policy.

NO C-GEAR!!!!!!
its useless since it dosnt work for me! (smothing about my router just dosnt like DS things)

cuz its useless and my router dosnt like it so whenever i try to do somthing involving it it dosnt work
i agree gym rematches are good

My change list:
1. Gym rematches please!
2. No Battle Frontier? Ridiculous.
3. Have contests, Pokeathlon, and musical available!
4. At least make all exclusives available to see... I want to be able to see pokemon like Vullaby. -_-

^They are saving Battle Frontier for the 3rd game(which I think will be called Grey).
In fact, they're saving most of the good stuff for Grey so that people would want to buy it.

Edit: Besides Grey isn't coming out for at least 1 and a half years

As I've been playing through, I've noticed a few things I would have liked changed. There were a whole lot of much-needed improvements, but no game can be perfect. (I've probably forgotten a few, so I may just post them later.)
  • Remove the "C-Gear Power On/Off" Prompt when you select your file from the start-up menu. The C-Gear already comes with an On/Off button, so having this pop up every time before I play my game is very annoying (especially when soft resetting). However, this function is probably legally required as the C-Gear interferes with regulations in hospitals and airplanes, apparently.
  • Change the cries of a few Pokémon. Back in Generation 4, I was concerned with the direction one or two cries took, as I feared they would slowly become more common (and they have). The problem was that some were too quiet - Tangrowth is a prime example. In this Generation, there are a few that are far too quiet (moreso than even Tangrowth) and need to be louder - Beartic is the best example. It's pointless to have a quiet cry when 98% of all cries in the game are around the same volume. There are also a few cries here and there that I don't think fit the Pokémon (such as Amoongus, which I feel should be a deeper sound instead of so high-pitched), but that's mostly a minor issue.
  • Move Pokémon option in boxes returned to how it was in DPPt. While this Generation's Move option is better than what I saw in HGSS, this is only because pressing Select changes the Move option to a mode that makes moving a lot easier. However, if you don't talk to the one stand alone NPC who tells you of this, you'll never know this option exists. It needs to be mentioned from the get-go, or just be the regular way to move Pokémon.
  • Poké Balls, Battle Items (X-Attack, etc.), etc. need to get out of the Item Bag. Return the bag to the way it was in DPPtHGSS - more compartments for specific types of items. I just see no reason for changing the bag system, but they did. (Even if it was so the bags would be more like they were in RBY, the bags in RBY were terrible in my opinion and the separate compartments were the change bags desperately needed.)
  • Nature of a Pokémon should be visible when checking a Pokémon on your team in-battle. This is mostly because you couldn't see what nature Reshiram / Zekrom was when you caught it. Sure, you could calculate what high-end stats would be if it had a certain nature and make a guess that way, but you shouldn't have to. I see no reason for the Nature to not be visible.
  • Add a few more frames of animation to a few Pokémon. Now, I can't complain too much because having the Pokémon move at all is still amazing to me. However, when some Pokémon (I can't recall any specific ones right now, but you've probably seen them) lack a "special" animation in their animation loop (the movement that only happens after a few loops of the basic movement), it's a bit disheartening. It seems lazy, especially when the leasy they could have done is made the Pokémon open its mouth or something. I understand doing fully-moving animations for 649 Pokémon and all their forms / formes is a huge task, but the "special" animation is something they really should have made a standard for all animations.

No Battle Frontier? Ridiculous.

I actually wish the gyms were more like the frontier facilities. It's always a shame that the facilities, which are more fun with their themed battles and record persistency are shafted at the end of the game. If you could take that idea and layer it onto the pokemon gyms, it'd be a lot more fun and challenging.

Of course that would probably turn the gyms from a main objective into a side objective but I think that just adds to the challenge (you don't get to coast on a level advantage in frontier style battles). If the plot can be designed such that the 8 gyms are not like 8 barricades impeding your world exploration (eg. badges needed to unlock HMs or some plot flags), this idea would be viable.

I agree with everything Xous Said, and would like to add my small list:

Better quality back sprites
I understand that this is difficult, because the back sprites need to be a lot larger than the front sprites, but it definitely isn't an impossible task, and it would make it much better.

Vs. Seeker needed
'Nuff said.

Gym Leader Rematches
But not like it was in HG/SS, that was dumb with the days thing. Also, not like it was with D/P/Pt, I would rather just go visit them in their gyms again. That never gets old.

Get rid of the shiny block on legends!
yeah.

i guess ill add some more.

-why make the minor characters (some trainers) re-matchable but not gym leaders? i see no point. who cares that you can rematch weak trainers and give me some gym rematches

-why do you still have the bike? its been done to many times before in this series. you wanted to make this gen new well give us something new to ride...like a scooter :p

-the more that i think about it the end was kind of weak.
N just flies off seriously
you could do like he runs off to regroup team plasma and then build up to grey but its this ending. i need to stop thinking about the ending...

-i wanted more at the end. i said that it was short before and it was you pretty much have to drag it out to keep your completion time under 40 hours.

-previous gen poke are usless in this gen. dang i sent over my all powerful lvl 100's to this game and they cant even beat 1 elite 4 person. they make them look like a joke. its probably me but dang they used to be able to take out 3-4 of the HGSS e4 but now they cant even take out 1.

im sure i will think of more but this is all for now. xous i was gonna say the cry one :p alot of them on low volume (i dont like the volume up) you cant here at all and it bugs me cause i want to hear the cry's

why do you still have the bike? its been done to many times before in this series. you wanted to make this gen new well give us something new to ride...like a scooter

But a scooter would just be a bike functionality on a different overworld sprite :p

Something really new would have to be radically different, like maybe allowing some pokemon to be used as land mounts, with different functionality like speed, or surfing (some pokemon might be able to walk and swim too), or rock climb, etc. I think it'd be a good replacement for many HMs, especially ones that have little to no battle value (hence making HM slaves necessary)

^i dont get it? so like there ability would be rock climb so you dont have to teach them the move?

Yeah something like instead of having to teach rock climb, you have a list of pokemon who themselves are capable of rock climbing when you use them as a riding mount. To draw an analogy it'd be like the mach bike which can ride up slippery slopes.

a mount would be so cool but you actually see the pokemon when your riding it not like when you surf and you see the blue thing and i wish you could see the pokemon when you surf too
