XY What Cool New Pokémon / Evolution Do You Want to See in the 6th Generation?

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

To correspond with the genetics theme- Two version exclusive cats, they would fulfill the role of the Meowth/Purrloin.
X version-A calico cat with a gender ratio of 87.5% female and 12.5% male
Y version-An orange stripy cat with a gender ration of 87.5% male and 12.5% female
No idea on their typings thought, Normal or Dark possible?
Yes, this is happens in real life, it has to do with chromosomes. Also, for a legendary group of 4 Pokemon, have them based of the vital components of DNA-A,C,G,T, or Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine, and Thymine. I figure that they could have supportive roles in the main plot, possible you need to catch them in order to create Xerneas or Yveltal or something.

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

How would a Pokemon look like that is based on a nucleobase? And then even four of them?

Genetics probably play a part in XY, but I'd rather see them stick to legendaries based on creatures from Norse mythology like Xerneas/Yveltal. The dragon Nidhogg could be the basis for the third legendary, maybe a Maboroshi no Pokemon based on the squirrel Ratatoskr and an additional legendary duo based on the monstrous wolf Fenrir and the Midgard Serpent.

Though I can't think of an appropriate traditional trio yet, any ideas?

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

I would like to see a Dragon/Ghost pokemon and a another Eveelution(not counting Sylveon). Also I would love to see a Ice/Steel type pokemon and a Poison/Dragon pokemon.

I honestly don't see the connection between Gen 6 and the Norse legend. I know Xern is a deer in front of a big tree, but Yvel doesn't really fit into that legend. I know the myth also has a dragon and a bird, but Yvel is a mix of the two and in the legend, they hate each other. I hope that gf will stop remaking old legends, myths, etc, but with Pokemon instead of what ever the characters of the myth are. It seems like this Gen will be totally original for once, and for the nucleo quintet, look at Reuniclus with some Deoxys thrown in, only a lot more majestic and well, legendary.

Yveltal does not look like a dragon, especially not like a Norse dragon, those are often more serpentine than our current idea of dragon (the European dragon; green, 2 wings, 4 feet, and lizard-like). A Norse dragon does usually not bear any legs, sometimes two, but most of the time none, neither does it have wings.

I would love to see ANYTHING! Though what interests me is the legendary Pokemon.

I know. It is just that they are doing a DNA theme as a main plot, not a side legendary.

I think this video descriptively shows why many fans believe that Xerneas/Yveltal are derived from Norse mythology.
Furthermore I don't think that Yveltal is a mix of the snake/dragon and the eagle from that legend, but rather based on the eagle exclusively, with a third legendary based on the snake/dragon being yet to release.

However I can totally see this genetics theme, too, though X and Y chromosomes might not be a sufficient base for a legendary Pokemon. So I think GF somehow mixed those unrelated topics of Norse mythology and genetics in the form of Xerneas and Yveltal.

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

I think the game needs a Dragon-Poison or Dragon-Bug, dont you guys agree?

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

We need another Poison-Ground evolution chain. Because nobody can truthfully say the Nido evolution chain wasn't awesome in every way.

I watched the video, an I still wasn't convinced. The Narrator didn't take the Japanese logo (which feature a DNA strand above the e) which I believe is more reliable than the Norse theory. The only thing that makes a bit of sense is that Xerneas has antlers that same color of the guardian stag's fur. Also, Yveltal is said to represent the eagle in the story (which lives with the gods) but Yvel look more "evil" and shouldn't be more "holy" looking then? Also, I would think that the Norse legend would be more fitting in a Scandinavia-inspired game, not a French-inspired one.

So far we just know that one city in XY is probably based on Paris, we don't know whether the whole region is based on the metropolitan area of Paris (à la Unova is based on New York), on France or even on a bigger part of Europe.

Previous generations additionally demonstrated that there can be totally different origins for a region and its respective main legendairies:
Hoenn is based on the Japanese island Kyushu, while Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza are derived from the Hebrew legends of the beasts of sea, land and sky. Same goes for Gen5: Unova is based on New York, and the tao trio, as this fanmade term indicates, is derived from the Taoist concepts of Yin and Yang and Wuji.

Also, as I said before, I don't think that it's a question of either genetics or Norse mythology. In order to create an interesting plot you could easily find a slot for ideas from completely different origins.

Norse mythology is not the same as the Abrahamic mythology. Asgard is not comparable with the western concept of heaven, especially not as in 'white, cloudy, and bright'.

I know, it just doesn't seem fitting that a glowy, veiny, clawed bird thing would live with gods, it seems more fitting in their concept of the underworld/roots of the tree. I just don't like the Norse theory because I want this generation to be unique and not based of a popular myth like every other Pokemon game ever. Also, we are getting really off topic again.

No, as I said, it is fitting with the concept of Asgard.

Popular myth? A lot of people have no idea what Norse mythology is about. Pokémon has always been based on something, everything in the games is based of something, creating something unique would be great for a chance, but I doubt GameFreak can do it.

I read up on Asgard, but I still don't see a creepy bird thing living there.
As for the myth, I have seen several references to Asgard or the other dimensions, as well as the tree, mentioned in popular culture. I just really hope that Gamefreak could be creative this time, not basing the plot off a preexistence myth. If they can't make up a plot, they could take a look at the several fan predictions and base it off that. If they don't do it this gen, we can hope that they will do it in gen 7

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

Personally, I hope for some pre-evolutions: Kangaskhan and Miltank need these for example. They're powerful enough and already adults, thus I feel a younger form is needed. Also, maybe some pokemon based on actual animals again that aren't stealing from Gen 1. Maybe something along the lines of a hummingbird, peacock, or flamingo would work.

RE: What cool new Pokemon do you want to see in the 6th generation?

Something new about Mewtwo, whether its an evil Psy/Dark Mewthree, a new forme, or a modified design with backstory.

..

Oh wait.

Guess I'm late

..

On a serious note,
this should be fake even though it looks as legit as it gets lol.
A Mewtwo forme or similar is something I'd expect when we get to revisit Kanto some day again, not pre gen6..
