Pokemon What do you think about Branched Evolutions?

Like the title says give your opinion on branched evolutions.
Is there any Pokemon you think should have a branched line?
Or is there any branched line you think should be "unbranched"?
What is your favorite branched line?

I would like to see the Seismitoad line being branched, I saw this cool Palpitoad alt. evolution on DeviantArt:
http://www.deviantart.com/art/030-Seizemtoad-267261400

Or Shellder getting of from Slowbros tail an becoming its own Pokemon :)

I would like the idea of Metapod and Kakuna getting alternate evolutions along with Butterfree and Beedrill. Such as:

Caterpie >> Metapod @ LV7 >> Butterfree @ LV10
Caterpie >> Metapod @ LV7 >> {Some kind of this ??--Metazap--??}

Weedle >> Kakuna @ LV7 >> Beedrill @ LV10
Weedle >> Kakuna @ LV7 >> {Some kind of this ??--Sharpointy--??

I just think it would be  =

My favorite is definitely the Ralts line. I like the idea that both Gardevoir and Gallade gain types upon evolution. To go with that, I also love the Snorunt line.

I'd like it if they'd give Mawile a branched evolution in the future. Such as:
Mawile >>Female @ LV27>> ??--Something--??
Mawile >>Male @ LV27>> ??--Something--??

I also really like the Raltz and Kirlia line :3

Sometimes they enhance the line others they just are not needed like Gallade enhancing and slowking being not needed. At least those IMO.

The only thing I currently dislike about the execution of this concept is how Eevee still has its monopoly on branched differently typed evolutions.
There is so much potential in that, yet nothing besides more different colored Eevees has ever really gone that way.
Fighter gaining different elements (having one ele. punch each), a Psychic learning to control different greek elements (fire, ground, water, flying), a dragon gaining different types of armor (steel, rock, poison, ice..)..

Other than that, I love the concept.

Froslass and Gallade are some of my favourite pokemon (but then again that list is long).

I merely feel sorry for cases where the initial one seems neglected after the new one is introduced like in Glalies case, or where the new one doesn't really bring much to the table (Bellossom loses its useful Poison type, what the hell..). But they already fixed that for Gardevoir by giving it Fairy type.
I'm still hoping Glalie and Bellossom would get Fairy as an extra type even if just to make up for this.

Also wish all of them would have much more diverse stats, since Gloom/Slowpoke/Poliwhirl merely have like 2 stats switched around that aren't even so different to begin with.

I'd like to see a Branched evo for the tyranitar line where Pupitar envolves into a defensive version of tyranitar with higher def then attack at a certain level, and it envolves into tyranitar with higher attack then defense at the same level.

Most of the fan ideas in this thread reeks of awfulness.

Anyway, I don't mind having branched evolutions but many of them seem unnecessary (Bellosom, Politoed, Slowking, Hitmontop, also Froslass should've been a new Pokemon instead of an evolution of Froslass). The only branched evo I really want is a Surskit evo that remains Bug/Water, but even then they could just make a new Bug/Water family instead.

I would enjoy a branched evolution for Combee where the male Combee actually becomes something that is usable, instead of remaining a mostly useless Combee. Like Vespiquen's protectors or something.

Hmm, it also might be cool if there was a branched evolution for Tangela. Instead of becoming like a defensive viney bigfoot, it loses most of its vines and it becomes way faster.

I agree 100% to this and i dont even think they originally meant for hitmontop to be in that line have you seen that pink 2 gen beta top pokemon

I enjoy branched lines, I think they make species more diverse and interesting. I remember in Gen 2 how I thought they were super rare since Politoad and Slowking were hard to come by given such a lack of the hold evolution items and friends to trade with. Not the case anymore, but I still find them awesome even without the rarity vintage. And yeah I think male combee should totally get a branched evolution, just to make it stop being so useless... lol

As a child, back in Generation I, I used to fantasize about an Axolotl branched Evolution for Poliwag. (Because sometimes in the wild, depending on the pH and environmental conditions, an amphibian's metamorphosis could be halted and they can reach sexual maturity as such. Aka, external gills are cool!)

Also, Eevee needs more Eeveelutions. Just sayin'. :p

(I'm also kind of a purist, in that I believe that only Eevee should have more than 2 Evolution paths.)

God no, please no more Eeveelutions. They take up a ton of Dex space and discourage variety (i.e. allows people to use a full team of Eeveelutions instead of experimenting with other Pokemon). We have more than enough already, it started getting excessive after Leafeon and Glaceon.

Blasphemy! I'd rather get rid of 99% of all Pokemon if it meant getting more Eeveelutions, to free up "Dex space" as you said... <_<

That is definitely not happening. The fun of the game comes from seeking out and capturing many different kinds of Pokemon, having them all be Eevee would completely destroy the game.

What I mean is, Eevee is a unique Pokemon and its existance makes the Pokemon universe more fun/cool.
But with all those countless Pokemon released with multiple evolution paths, it makes Eevee seem less and less unique/cool. So I just want to ensure Eevees place as the multi-evolution king. :p

I'd love to see more unique Pokemon like Eevee, but unique in a different way. Like a 5 Stage Pokemon line.
(Other Pokemon with unique/cool mechanics: Deerling, Escavalier/Accelgor, etc.)

That worry is completely unfounded, Eevee already has 8 branched evos, no other line even comes close.

Woah, I never even processed the fact that Bellossom loses a type! (How does Gloom evolve into Bellossom anyway?)

Is this the only case of this? Excluding type CHANGES.

Gloom evolves into Bellossom by using the Sun Stone :)

I don't think there's any of those cases (yet).
