Pokemon What do you think about Branched Evolutions?

I like Branched evos, as long as it's an evo line like Slowpoke and Oddish and not like the Wurmple line, as I don't like there to be two Stage 1 and two Stage 2 Pokémon in a single evo line.
I'm disappointed that Gen 5 had no branched evos and the only confirmed branch for 6th gen so far is Sylveon for the Eevee line.

I merely feel sorry for cases where the initial one seems neglected after the new one is introduced like in Glalies case, or where the new one doesn't really bring much to the table (Bellossom loses its useful Poison type, what the hell..). But they already fixed that for Gardevoir by giving it Fairy type.
I'm still hoping Glalie and Bellossom would get Fairy as an extra type even if just to make up for this.

Woah, I never even processed the fact that Bellossom loses a type! (How does Gloom evolve into Bellossom anyway?)

Is this the only case of this? Excluding type CHANGES.

I'm pretty sure of this; I think that some people are hoping Bellossom gets Fairy in gen6 to make up for it (ala Gardevoir getting a dual type to compete with Gallade's).

bit more on topic:
I'm pretty so-so about them; if they have good designs and bring something new to the table, then go for it, but if they just feel a bit tacked on for the sake of it, then it gets a bit boring.
Good examples would be Gallade/Froslass as bringing new things, and Bellossom being one that feels a bit tacked on.
Gallade and Froslass both have cool dual types and cool designs that fit in with their line, but Bellossom doesn't share that much similarities with the rest of its line (excluding face design, which is a bit of a stretch), it also loses the Poison type. I personally feel that Bellossom could have been a standalone Pokemon.

I think of Bellossom as an upside-down Oddish, but with its legs turned into flowers and feet into arms/hands... and turned green.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was how they designed Bellossom.
But if that was the case, it would've made more sense for it to evolve directly from Oddish. (it's also interesting to note, that G/S beta shows Bellossom with a body the same color as Oddish's)
But even then, it just feels like it doesn't fit into the line.
I mean, evolving from a plant that has a head and can move around is one thing, but Gloom takes the line in a way that doesn't really encompass what Bellossom is about... I mean, Gloom is a stinky flower thing, but then evolving into a happy-dancing-flower thing just seems off. I'd have much rather they made Bellossom a standalone, maybe even with its own evo line.
It's not like people would directly go and say 'Bellossom should be a Gloom evo!!1!1!!!' like they did with Luvdisc/Alomomola, infact it probably would've gone rather smoothly.

Outside of Eevee, my favorite branched evolution line would be Poliwhirl into Poliwrath/Politoed. Seems they should have had Poliwhirl (tadpole) evolve into a frog (Politoed) from Generation I instead of waiting for the next generation to give a frog final form, leaving Gen. I with another tadpole (Poliwrath) as the final stage.

My favorite branched evolution line is none other than the Ralts line, (I'm always going to end up having Gardevoir/Gallade on my team regardless), and their designs totally go together like 2 peas in a pod.

I would love to see another triple branch evolutionary line happen again (so far the only 1s that have multiple evos is Eevee (with 8) and Tyrouge (with Tyrouge being the only Pokémon to have a triple branch evolutionary line), and I think the Ralts line is capable of bearing a triple branch evolutionary line (assuming Gardevoir and Gallade don't get Mega evolutions but I got a feeling they will since Gardevoir is rumored to get 1), and if so I'd like to see a Psychic/Steel counterpart to Gardevoir/Gallade but with shields instead of blades and increased defenses kinda like this:

Hp: 68
Attk: 65
Def: 120/125
Sp. Attk: 65
Sp. Def: 115/120/125
Speed: 80
