XY What do you think the setting is: Europe or France?

I want it to be France. Europe would be incredibly big. I want it to be big but if it is anything bigger than France, it would be huge.

I think it's based on France or at least Western Europe. But perhaps it WILL take from all of Europe but in the trailer Pikachu shoots lightning from Paris. (You can see the Eiffel tower as the picture zooms out during the trailer as Pikachu's lightning spreads across the world)

Every region has been based on small parts of a larger country (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are all based on Japanese regions, Unova is based on Manhattan). I think that the 6th Gen region is just based on Paris, and perhaps its surrounding area at maximum.

If they used more of Europe, it would have to be large cities (London, Berlin etc.), but maybe cut down a bit? But I think I'd rather have a larger Parisian setting and really get into some French settings.

I imagine it will be part of France. They'll have to encompass part of the coast somehow as well for some water routes, so it might take in the English Channel too. I can imagine a mountainous ridge (loosely based on the Alps) cutting off this region from the rest of Europe.

Hmm... I think they did a little foreshadowing to a future game in Paris, or France as a whole. Fantina, then the one director in Pokestar Studios.

I hope it's not just France... Most of western europe would be good... Perhaps they could even have a little space for my little Portugal... But I'll be happy if it has at least parts of UK...

In the trailer, we can see the male trainer going down a street with an Eiffel-tower like structure in the background. If that doesn't imply a French setting, what does?

From what I've heard, the setting is gonna be the Paris general area. You can see it in the trailer as well.

That being said, I think the game will be based loosely around Paris.
