Ruling What is Proxy?

Its where you write on the cards (or packets holding cards) with a real pokemon cards name, and maybe hp and his stuff, it's usually used if you dont have the cards and want to try out a new deck, or if your cards are too valuable to take somewhere (school maybe).

Same things go for yu-gi-oh. (the reason i know what proxy is :p)

Most of the non staple cards should have a print out though so in case someone does not know what tehy do you can show it to them.

Proxies are just printouts of original cards.Player made proxies are not allowed in tournaments.

The league I go to allows proxies or cards from World Championship decks for staples like Uxie and Claydol, but proxies aren't allowed at all at premier events.

A Proxy can be a number of things. It can be, as said above, an actual card created by yourself using a Printer and the Internet, or it can be a non-existent card that came from your own imagination.
Some other card games (aside from Pokemon) have Proxy tournaments where players have decks revolving around cards they have created.
This has nothing to do with Pokemon...

But.

NOW YOU KNOW

[Shiny Noctowl - Proxies aren't allowed at ANY Premier events]

Can you have Proxy cards in your deck? I mean like real ones that are printed out?

What if you had the real one but didnt want it to get damaged so you used a Proxy is that allowed?

I think that usually depends on the TO, I know at my store we do that a lot for Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Not sure about premier events, though.

I know. My post said that the League I go to allows proxies but that proxies aren't allowed at Premier Events.

If a card becomes damaged, the TO is allowed to make a Proxy. That's one of the rare instances a proxy can be used.

dmaster out.

For example, in Cities, I beat some kid, and he got mad, and ripped my claydol. I was aloud to use a proxy till the tourney. The thing is you have to have some other card with you. They will not allow you to have just the proxy in the sleeve, becase you can feel the difference. You also have to use sleeves to have proxies.

Of course. That's why the TO has to approve. That situation sounds terrible. I meant like if a card becomes damaged after you play with it. x_x

dmaster out.

Wow, he ripped your Claydol? Didn't he have to buy you a new one, get banned, or something like that?
