What is the "best" set?

All cards before Diamond and Pearl are not legal personally I would start to buy Rising Rivals so you can get some rare and playable cards, then start getting other sets to add playable trainers to your powerful pokemon such as Flygon or Luxray
 
Okay my top 5 sets in order
1. Platinum(better than RR due to pack pulls and you need the SP Engine to play Lux, oh and the best common EVER)
2. Platinum Rising Rivals(close and w/ Lux X hitting 70 on ebay, but sorry 1-2 good x's per case=bad)
3. Stormfront(some would disagree w/ it being so high but 2-3 Tier one decks is beasty, sadly it may not be legal next year)
4. HeartgoldSoulSilver(well it has good pack rates but sadly the best stuff is rarer than primes)
5. Platinum Arceus(CurseGar, possibly by next year 2nd highest X and great rates)

Honorable Mention-Diamond&Pearl Great Encounters+Legends Awakened, not gonna league promos hurt both these sets and as they will MOST likely not be legal next year...
