What is the most satisfying game you've ever played?

True, TWEwY was really an extremely satisfying game. I love just everything about it, the world, the story, the art, the music, the gameplay and the collecting. All this together it became really just like... can't describe it. It gave such a good feeling.

Now I feel like replaying the whole game with Shiki or Joshua, because I have only really "leveled up" Beat and of course Neku.

Kid Icarus: Uprising
Portal 2 (I don't own it, but from watching my brother that game is one of the best ever made)

Do they have Pikmin on 3DS?

There's no Pikmin games on handhelds, but Miyamoto did toy around with the idea that a Pikmin game would be great on the 3DS. Remains to be seen if they will ever release one though.

dmaster out.

Kid Icarus is amazing! I've had so much fun with, many many hours spent playing this jewel of a game :D

and @Brave Vesperia I have a feeling you love the Tales of Series :p me too, its crazy fun, and I love playing the with friends :D

Well I've only beaten Graces ƒ and Vesperia, and I've also played a little bit of Symphonia, I can say that I do love the Tales series. I just wish they would bring more of the games to America! =/

I don't, but if you can play BF2 online on it, then I would more than happily sign up.

As a side note, I really wish they'd start development on BF3. Pandemic, the studio that brought us the original two, has been closed for some time, but LucasArts has surely heard the fanbase clamoring for another installment. I don't see any logic in discontinuing a great series like Battlefront for crap like 1313.

Project Zero, surprisingly, is incredibly satisfying. The series is SO well designed, SO underrated and treats the horror genre of games with the respect it deserves.

Yes, yes, and double yes. The first three are amazing games. Haven't had a chance to play the Wii one since, well, Japan-only and all. Apparently the 3DS one was horrible and I'll be avoiding it. I think what really makes these games so, well, satisfying is how much they immerse you in the world. You're forced to get up close and personal with the ghosts to make good shots, and the game creates an incredibly powerful atmosphere with the use of lighting and sound effects. I'm a big fan of horror media in general (games, books, movies, etc), and this game series is one of the few things that's actually, honestly scared me. Not a screaming, freak out kind of scared; a shaking, dead weight in your gut kind of scared. (fun fact: the username I used on most forums is a homage to the main villain of the first game)

Another game that I have to nominate for Most Satisfying would be Lunar 2: Eternal Blue COMPLETE for the PS1, which is the best RPG I've ever played. It's nice and long, with plenty of optional content, engaging and fun characters, and a well-done combat system that's more focused on strategy than running around to level up before you can beat the boss. There are so many things, both big and little, that made this game so great. I still can't help but compare other RPGs to it even to this day, and the only other series I've found that I enjoy to almost the same level is Golden Sun. The other games in the Lunar Series (Silver Star Story COMPLETE, and the original versions of both games that came out for the Sega CD*) are also great, but I think EB COMPLETE was the highest point the series ever achieved.

* the GBA remake of SSS wasn't quite up to par, but was still amusing, and you can just ignore Dragon Knights on the DS.

I hear the 4th runs on the same engine as Project Zero 2 Wii Edition, being trialed in Europe (The heavy English accents are the best when playing through) Project Zero 2 adopted an over-shoulder camera angle, similar to Resident Evil 4 and that kind of ruins a lot of the atmosphere of the PS2 games.
The Wii Edition is still a very good game but there is just none of that in-the-corner-of-your-eye stuff to stop you in your tracks, pull out your camera and say:
"what was that what was that what was that"
And the Project Zero games liked doing that a lot!

!!!

I hadn't heard that PZ2 Wii was released in Europe. I'm going to have to get my hands on that after I move this fall. Shame that the changes seem more for the worse than the better, but the PZ series seems like it was just made for the Wii controls so I need to give it a go.

Mortal Kombat for 360! So fun... so satisfying for my hunger for carnage in video games. I do hope that's what you mean by "satisfying"

In a "non-psychotic" satisfying way, I've recently found myself playing some old games, like original Spyro the Dragon game for PS1 and Paper Mario: The Thousand Door for Gamecube. Both very satisfying, despite being highly outdated.

Not quite sure if I can give you the most satisfying game I've ever played, so I'll instead give you some of my favorites that aren't obvious choices. Though, they're some of my favorites because they're satisfying, so I suppose that works out...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (GBC)

This was basically my first traditional RPG. I'd only played Pokemon and Mario and Luigi before. I got it on a whim randomly, and it turned out to be great. Unlike normal licensed games, it'd be hard to automatically label this as "meh". It's pretty faithful to the source material, the graphics do the job, the music is great, and the game itself is fun to play. Many collectible cards are scattered throughout, and if you can't find them on your first try, you restart the game with your already collected ones and your experience when you beat it. I suppose it might be meh to some, but I'd definitely label it as satisfying. They apparently did Prisoner of Azkaban in the same style on GBA, so I look forward to playing that someday,

Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury (GBA)

And this was basically my first good experience with an action-RPG. I consider myself fairly interested in DBZ, but it doesn't come from the anime. Where does it come from? This game. Oh, this game. This was the last in the Legacy of Goku trilogy by Webfoot, and it was definitely satisfying. Though, I think that mostly came from the fact that, if you use stat increases regularly, it's very, very easy. I didn't know they were there until I almost beat it, but man, they make it ridiculously easy. I like easy games, so it was satisfying. I've played through it at least 10 times.

Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver 2: Get'n Dirty (PC)

This'd probably fall under the banner of most satisfying of these three. The game itself? Probably the best Hot Wheels game ever (aside from World Race on PC that I've never played; looks awesome). It's all about satisfaction, because it plays itself. Like, take an on-rails shooter, remove the enemies, and add in some obstacles. That's it. It's basically a slightly interactive short film. The designers were very creative with it; the first stage has you going through a pond, and in it alone, you can take a branching path to a flip, go underwater in a tube, and perform many jumps, with some cars coming at you with full force. Definitely, it's not very gamey, but it's very satisfying. You could probably get 90% of the experience by watching videos of it in full-screen, but I like the interactivity bit.

Mega Man Battle Network 6 (GBA)

This'd fall under the realm of more obvious, but it deserves a mention. This gave me a different type of satisfaction. After playing 4, only to get stuck on the final boss, and 5 (which I did beat once), I saw this and had high expectations. They were not let down, and thus, I was satisfied. The end of a saga, the music, the graphics, the ease, cross-overs--everything was great. Granted, Bass SP and BX are way way hard, and it was a mistake to have the danger music run for the rest of the game, even if beaten, but nearly everything else gave me a great deal of satisfaction.

Bonus: Shrek 2 (GBA)

I wouldn't call this great, only good, but I do like to play through it every so often, and so it is satisfying. It's basically The Lost Vikings. The latter half of the levels can be unfair with their spotlights, and the final boss fight with its near one-hit kills, but I enjoy it. Though as my first GBA game, I suppose that comes down to nostalgia.

Granted, I was 5-9 when I played these, and thus very influenceable, but they do remain to be great games to me. I can kinda counter this by saying that I got Goblet of Fire on GBA before Chamber of Secrets, and it was definitely your typical licensed fare. I didn't like it that much.

...You're cooler now.
I love the MMBN Series. I started when my brother gave me MMBN 3 Blue, and I was pretty attached to the game. It was just wonderful. The story, specially. Alpha was such a trouble, except when you get a Grass Style and set Grass Stage as your regular chip. I'm not sure if you played 3...

I also agree about the danger music for the rest of the game. Very annoying.

EDIT: I might as well post other games now.

Super Paper Mario: Oh boy, how I was longing for this game. In my last visit to U.S. I had the chance to play it thanks to one of my cousins...The game is wonderful. The story, the music, the Pixls, I loved everything about the game. I remember how nervous we were in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials. I was in the last rooms and I had low health. I was expecting to level up to get healed. Xp The ending of the game was sad, yet great. I had wateey eyes, to be honest.
The original Paper Mario basically goes here, too. I still need to play TTYD. D:

Boktai 2: I'm not sure if any of you guys know Boktai. It's a game series that requires you to play in the sun, due to various things. This game was pretty fun, even if the last boss was a little disgusting. (At least for me. It wasn't something horrible, though) There is also a pair of bad endings that can make things interesting. Anyway, this is your typical dungeon exploring game. You need sunlight to make the game's weapons stronger, since you can infuse them with magic of different types. The MMBN Series has a good relationship with the Boktai series...Sometimes you may even see MegaMan in this series, or the Solar Boy Django in the MMBN Series. MMBN got me into Boktai.

Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness: Derp, I love this game. I got it in a bundle with a special Pokemon XD Nintendo GameCube. I love the concept of Shadow Pokemon. (And I'm sure you guys do too) I like playing the Bingo game everytime, specially with teh Bonsly Card. The graphics are quite nice, too. The only thing I don't like about the game is the lack of methods to obtain Pokemon, and the PokeSpots don't really help much. It's still an amazing game though. You can't forget Team Snagem or Cipher!

I'll also mention Zelda:OoT 3D (This game got me into Zelda) and Brawl. I don't have much time to write anymore.

Clearly, you've never played QWOP.

Red Monkeys In A Forest said:
I wouldn't say Qwop has all the features and expansiveness of a satisfying game, but hey its your opinion dude

Satisfying's meaning can be taken in many ways. In your case, it's the satisfaction of a grand adventure. In QWOP's, it's the satisfaction of finally, finally achieving success.

What. I said in the OP what I was talking about :p I didn't say great adventure :p

just because you defined it in the op doesn't mean other people can't have differing opinions. that makes no sense.

anyway I just got Sonic Generations and that's been pretty dang satisfying so far
