XY What other kinds of legendaries do you think there will be?

I would love to see some Constellations made into Legendaries.

They're not really in the style of Pokemon, but Mega Man Star Force 1 has Leo, Pegasus, and Dragon as things you would label legendaries:

I really would love a quadret based off the four apoctolyptic horsemen (War Famine Pestilence Death). It could be 4 horse pokemon but I would prefer something different since we just had the Musketeers. I know apocolypse themed Pokemon might be iffy for a childs based game but it would be awesome.

I'd like to see a sabre-toothed tiger legendary.

In all seriousness, I think there should some legends based on constellations or some of the zodiac signs (as stated before).

Sagittarius and Gemini would be a really cool I think. I would want Leo, but we already have Entei as the fire lion. :p

I present to you another thing they could do from norse mythology.

The norns.
"female beings who rule the destiny of gods and men"

I could imagine these in a simialr manner as the lake guardians, but all Ghost type for example.

I can actually see this happen, they would perfectly fit in the Yggdrasil fan theory. Here's an idea I had by ready that Wiki page. What if that theory is true and that somewhere in the new region, there's a hidden place with a reallly huge mystical tree of life. It's a sacred place, hence why it is protected by 3 Norn based pokemon, all female and Ghost type. The tree is known for it's amazing powers and abilities and for the legendary pokémon who lives in it. At a certain point, we as the main character need to protect that place and the tree against the new villain but to enter this hidden place we must first face the 3 Guardians. Then we need to climb into the tree to reach the top and protect Xerneas / Yveltal. Et voila, the scene where the main character swings on a rope is explained. :)

Just a thought of mine, what do you think?

Well, tickle me happy someone actually mentioned Megman Starforce! Hahaha! Anyone remember the Gemini twin bosses or Crown Thunder from that game?

On topic:
I think the norns are very viable as legendaries. But while the norns were by Yggdrasil they protected that well whose name escapes me. How about legendaries based off of Fenrir and Jormungandr? Ooooh love a Loki type Pokemon. A trickster/mischief legendary. Or how about Pokemon based off of the Treasures of the Tuatha De Danann? A Rock legendary who judges those worthy to rule? (Let's say there was at one point in gen 6 there was kings, warriors etc) (Stone of Fal) A Pokemon whose power never fails (Spear of Lugh), A Pokemon based off of Nuada's sword, and finally a Pokemon who leads people and Pokemon alike to sustenance (Cauldron of Dagda). Idk really just spit-balling here.

Let's just start creating Pokemon that are based on Megaman characters, and everything will be oooookay.

I would like to see a lot of original legendaries, like all the other games have done, but have a theme to them as in the days of yore rather than a complete basis on mythology, maybe with a COUPLE that draw little, but some inspiration from other sources SUCH AS mythology. GF is capable of a lot more creativity when it comes to pokemon designs, look at Gens 3 and 4.

Besides, if Yggdrasil and Norse mythology were the theme, wouldn't it make more sense for Yvetal and the serpent to be the main legendaries, and the squirrel to be the third?

They could make an Arceus-league Yggdrasil legendary. As in, based on the actual world tree itself.

Squirrel? o.o

Rattatoskr, was a squirrel that ran the length of Yggdrasil passing insults between Nithogg (who chewed on Yggdrasil's roots) and the eagle who sat on a perch at the top of the tree. This is like Scandinavian/Norse mythology 101. Because so many people are curious about the eagle's name/identity.

I thought this was neat.

That is awesome.....but how does all the organs together make a pokemon, I imagine it would look bloated and gross :p

I've waited a looooong time for a poison legendary...if the Norse theory holds that could be the direction they go with Nidhogg.

Or a neat Bug trio would be ones that resemble different stages of metamorphosis but stay like that xDDD

Like a legendary caterpillar, a legendary cocoon and a legendary moth. lol

I would absolutely love this. I normally never care for legendaries - they've just never quite made one that had a design I'd be into - but I'd use the HECK out of a legendary cousin to metapod :p

My kind of pokemon :D

Actually I have always wanted pokemon that resemble organs, like a brain, heart and intestine trio. Some have said they don't think pokemon would do something so "gruesome," but organ creatures show up in other "kid" stuff all the time, especially brains!

The disembodied intestine on Neopets is also one of the cutest freaking things on the site.

Dear god, why?!? *falls to knees* NNOOOO!!!
As far as I can rack my brains for a logical suggestion for one, I cannot think of anything. I think at least one legendary should be a dark type, only due to France's history (Vikings, Holy Wars, French Revolution, Napoleon, WWI, WWII). They've had some pretty rough times, or a dark past, so to speak.

Please GF....this would be the coolest thing and I would laugh every time I see it.

I think GF can be a bit more serious and graphic, I mean they did say that kyurem ate people....also have you ever played red/blue, TEAM ROCKET MURDERED A MAROWAK!!!

And Parasect is effectively a fungus-infested zombie, Yamask is a dead human being, Banette is a self-torturing voodoo doll, Weezing is two unnatural mutants horribly melted together and loads of pokemon are murderous predators according to the dex; the series isn't at all restricted to totally innocent, kiddie designs and concepts, at least not near as much as its popular image.

Back on the subject of legendaries, though; most gens will have a mix of legendaries with very different themes, so while the "main" ubers this gen could be Norse themed, others will likely be all over the place.

This is a huge stretch, but France actually has, or allegedly has, an obscure legend of a beast called the Lou Carcolh; a gigantic, mountain-sized hybrid between a snake and a snail, with kraken-like tentacles. Yes, France has a legend about killer escargot.

It could be too obscure even for Pokemon, but then again, the monster's name has been used in Final Fantasy for a tentacled slug monster, and it appeared directly (looking awesome) in the U.S. Secret Saturdays, so, the pop culture world is certainly at least a little aware of it.

Pokemon has a bit of a gruesome side, but you have to sit and actually read into it. Most kids won't read into it so it looks innocent (gengar is a shadow that steals souls, chandelure steals souls, looking at the back side of a shedinja can kill you, I can't remember the others) but it's semi twisted. Lavender town....quite the sad and horrific place.

They could do alot with Norse legend, not just legendaries either.
