Deal with it.

Well, here's the deal.

I'm going to California next week and my cousin is going with me.
He and I just got DSi's somewhat recently.

We both have games for it, but nothing with one card multiplayer, so I thought: Well, maybe I could get Mario Party DS, it looks pretty fun. We both could play, and it'd only be $20-30 dollars. We are leaving on Saturday, the Eighteenth. (7/18/09) Then I saw a video walkthrough of Super Mario 64 DS, and that looked immensely fun as well! The multiplayer is disappointing, however. I am stuck on choosing as I don't have much extra money barring the trip to California, so as you can see...well. yeah.

I'd love to play Mario Party with him, but I don't know if it's really worth it. The trip is 7 ~ Days long. I figure it'd also give us something to do late at night because we are night owls, but when it comes to Mario 64 DS, we could always take turns. Eh? Eh?

Please Help ~ Thank you ~~

If you're looking for multiplayer you'd probably have to go with Mario Party DS. Switching back and forth is fun sometimes, depending on the game, but idk if Super Mario 64 DS is one of those games. I heard Mario Party DS wasn't too bad so that would probably be a better choice... If you want to know which game's better thought I suggest checking out IGN.com and Gamespot. They'll give you reviews and ratings of each game

Super Mario 64. Better stuff. Its so fun. Mario Party DS isnt that fun. Kinda
Confusing kinda too.

Well I did that, and it only made the choice harder! Together we don't have much money that we can spend unless it's at California, so, it is quite a decision, you know what I mean?

Super Mario 64 DS has multiple save files, though. :p

Other then that..though.

The Multiplayer portion is important.

Maybe just flip a coin. Or you could ask the person that works their the
details about the games.

Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Hunters are better for multiplayer than Mario Party is. ;f

dmaster out.

I have Mario Party DS and I'd suggest getting that. There are ALOT of minigames, you can play regular Mario Party, and it has 3 save files. It also allows you to join in these tournaments against computers and players. There is also some puzzle mode, but I never tried it out. Either way, get Mario Party.

The reason I'm having trouble deciding even though Mario Party is probably a good choice is after the trip, wouldn't it get less and less fun without other people?

I mean, wouldn't 64DS last longer and have a better appeal?

Yet, I love Mario Party in general. :S

mario party definatly
mario 64 is kinda bad because if you get stuck on something your basicly doomed
and mario party is jjust overal way better

Why don't you ask your cousin and see what she wants to do as well. You have to be polite :p. Also, I think some gamestops have a station to play demos so you may want to look into that...

I am quite polite. xP

I have asked him numerous times, each time he thinks, then usually ends up saying, "Either sounds good."

I'm kind of leaning towards Mario Party and buying 64DS if it's cheap and used.

Big IF.

Why not Mario Kart DS like d master342 said? It is great for both multiplayer and single player. Lots of charaters, karts, and stages to unlock alone. Also, you can go on wi-fi and play other people worldwide alone.

We both have Mario Kart on the Wii, and while it's f un, we don't need 2 of the same thing. :p Thanks for the advice though, so yeah, what does anyone else think?

In Mario Kart Wii, you can only play it on the tv at home. But in Mario Kart DS, you can play it anywhere. So on your trip in the car you can play it with your cousin in multiplayer mode like you do at home.

I would get Super mario 64 DS.

As Dmaster pointed out, better Multiplayer games for the DS are avaliable (Why he didnt mention Pokemon I will never know) and considdering SM64DS has been out for a while now it should be avaliable cheaper if you look around a bit than Mario Party.

I didn't mention Pokemon because it's a no brainer. And I don't like it, so I don't see why anyone would actually want it over Mario Kart DS. :F I mean, Wi-Fi is better than Local anyway.

If you're not going to get Mario Kart DS, I suggest Metroid. It's a great multiplayer game.

dmaster out.

Well we already have Pokemon, and like I said, we have already bought (and beaten) Mario Kart.

Bump.

I might be getting both but only if I find one used and (hopefully) cheaper. Hm..?

Please help, what game would last longer, what has better motivation to keep playing?

I think Mario Party DS might be too short because story mode only has 5 levels and only around 50 or more minigames to play. In Super Mario 64DS, has lots of levels to explore, you can play with different charaters and 120 stars to find.

I would choose Super Mario 64DS over Mario Party DS.
