Again, that is impossible because Prism Scale already exists in gen 5 and it doesn't evolve Eevee in gen 5.

It wouldn't be impossible, if there wasn't anything to evolve it into then it doesn't mean it's impossible, it's now because there is the option for a new evolution that the prism scale method would become available to use, anyway this is all speculation so you wouldn't be able to rule it out until it was confirmed anyway
It's like saying that a dawn stone or a shiny stone wouldn't work because they were introduced in gen 4 and it didn't work there.
Exactly. Dawn Stone and Shiny Stone won't work! That is even the reason why Dawn Stone and Shiny Stone were introduced in the first place, because they couldn't use old Stones that existed in previous games!

RE: What type is Ninfia???

Mrr? Just one? Poo.

For some reason, Ninfia feels like poison-type to me...I guess due to the name, "Nin" aka Ninja. Though it can be a normal-type but it's so completely different from Eevee.

Edit: After reading other websites, it could represent flying-type too. Hoping it will be the first flying type pokemon without wings! :p

If it is normal type I believe there will be a less feminine form for us guys, however as seen with pokemon shiny collection pokemon could be trying to make a move on female players.

Afraid of pink Pokémon? They release one pink Pokémon and everyone is complaining it needs a 'male counterpart'. Espeon did not look particulary masculin, I do not hear anyone complaining about Espeon.

RE: What type is Ninfia???

Well first of all, let's rule out what types it couldn't be.

It can't be Fire, Water, Electric, Psychic, Dark, Grass, or Ice, those are taken.

It can't be Rock, Ground, Steel, Fighting, or Poison, it's too dainty to be one of those types.

It can't be Ghost because it doesn't look remotely supernatural.

Which leaves Normal, Flying, Bug, and Dragon.

It's probably not Bug, because it doesn't look the part. Pretty much the only reason people are thinking Bug is because its bows resemble butterflies, and that's not a strong enough reason.

It could be Dragon, it's rather royal and majestic looking, but not really draconic (although that doesn't stop Kingdra or Altaria). I'm gonna say this is a long shot.

Normal seems likely, a lot of cute, animal looking Pokemon are normal type, but I would think a Normal type Eeveelution would resemble Eevee more.

And then there's Flying. Flying is possibility, it could be wind themed (which fits the pattern for other Eeveelutions which are based on elements). And the ribbons make it look somewhat aerodynamic.

But there's more, first of all, if you look at the screenshot at the top, it looks like it could be using some sort of wind based attack. Furthermore, its name provides a clue. Ninfia could possibly be translated as Nymphia (meaning its English named could be something along the lines of Nympheon or something). Which would make sense, this thing looks fairy-like in its appearance. Therefore, I think most likely Ninfia is Flying, with Normal being the second most likely. None of the other types really fit it that well based on the information we've been given.

RE: What type is Ninfia???

I'm pretty sure it's normal type. It's the most obvious choice and
@MistahFuji: Like I said on another thread, Normal-type is full of pink pokémon...

Color is not a legitimate reason to believe this is Normal, they can make certain color Pokemon just about any type they want.

RE: What type is Ninfia???

I say normal or coughcoughlightype, but hopefully normal. Oh just reveal it already. =V

It is OVERLY girly. So many bows and ribbons and I'm not fond of bows and ribbons myself, only Suicune can pull of ribbons and still look somewhat cool. At least Espeon has a cool factor going for it while still being graceful.

And it would be really awesome if there were male and female counterparts to Ninfia, maybe each with different typings? That could be considered the "two" new Eevee evolutions. They did it with Kirlia and Snorunt, so why not Eevee too?

RE: What type is Ninfia???

i would love if she's a new type, she's so cute and elegant, i don't really think it's bad to have a feminine looking pokémon, it's awesome, indeed

RE: What type is Ninfia???

I want to say it's a normal type, but it doesn't actually look like a normal type. As soon as I saw the design, I quickly wrote down all the types and crossed off which ones it's not. I honestly want to say it's a new type. With that bow tie, I can easily see it being a sound type. Maybe a light type as well? I hope it's something new.

RE: What type is Ninfia???

I would personally say it's either a Bug type or a Flying Type. Bug types have Pink Gummis in Mystery Dungeon Games, and Nenfia is Pink. Or, the scarf for some reason makes me think of wind and wind is flying.

RE: What type is Ninfia???

Uh, why is the speculation still going? Corocoro itself says its typing is the same as Eevee.

They phrase it as a question only to dramatize. You know, like, "could it be....Darth Vader is Luke's Father!?" Phrasing an outright statement as a question is especially common in Japan. The context and wording is intended to be taken that way.

Where in CoroCoro does it ever state this?

RE: What type is Ninfia???

I don't see even a remote chance for Ninfia to be Flying.
Not even any of the birds that are actually airborne was "Flying" enough for them to justify a primary Flying type.

And yet stuff like Gyarados, Mantine, and Jumpluff are. The Pokemon that can fly that aren't Flying have two other more interesting types to use instead (Flygon, Hydreigon, etc.)

I can definitely see Ninfia using its ribbons to ride wide currents kind of like Gliscor.

RE: What type is Ninfia???

Could Ninfia possible be dragon? If you remove the bows, it the ribbons look like the whiskers that eastern dragons commonly have. If it is a dragon type, a really hope that the bows are something that is exclusive to just one Ninfia, like the spiky-eared Pichu of HGSS. Also, up to this point, all eeveelutions have been special types, and dragon is the only special type without a eeveelution. Also, I really don't see Ninfia being a flying type. Normal, maybe, but just not flying.

Possible, but not likely. Dragon types usually look more draconic, but we do have stuff like Kingdra and Altaria which don't really look draconic at all.
