What would cause a computer mouse button to put in 9's

We have a mouse with a red ball and page up and down buttons on it and the page up button puts9's in instead of making the page go up but the page down button works and we tried to fix it but nothing works. Can you guys tell me what the problem is? Thank you.:)

I think its your mouse. His questions is: I have a mouse with 2 buttons on it. One is page up, the other page down. Wheni clixck on page down, it brings the page down, but when i click on page up, the number "9" is typed. Why? IMO, its not PB, but its your mouse.
 
I know but what would cause that to happen? We tried to rest the mouse button and it did not work.:)
 
We can't afford one right now so we have to click on the side bar for now and it does the same thing and thanks for your help.:)
 
Well...that sure is messed up. ;)

Your mouse might be locked.  It happened to my other friend once.  What happens is the mouse is linked to the computer, and it picks up certain frequencies.  It just happened to pick up the number nine by chance and now it somehow locked into the channel.  It's sorta complicated...is your mouse wireless?
 
No it was corded but it died so we got a laser browser mouse.:)

Ah...well, let's see.  Since you got a new mouse, you shouldn't need to worry about it, but take care of it. ^_^  Anyway, glad you got a new mouse.  ;)
 
It was a marble mouse and it died and we had it for about 5 years or so.:)
