Would Trio-types make the game...

With this having backwards-compatibility, I say no. But it'd be a cool idea...

dmaster out.

I say no to tri-types... to confusing, and probably to vulnerable.. think if Garchomp were also flying? Now think how powerful an ice move is to it... o_O in the card game, they would be overpowered... think how good a tri type could do... so no... WAY to confusing

The reason Charizard is not a dragon-type is because it's a starter. It would give people way too much incentive to choose him and the other two would be neglected. Chances are we'd never get a dragon starter unless all three were dragons, which would really mess up the whole triangle thing.

Gyarados on the other hand, I could totally see being dragon. Kingdra's had the monopoly on water/dragon far too long.

Personally I think it would make my brain hurt to try to figure stuff out at x6 or x8 (Good news is pretty much anything would be a OHKO at that point) but I'm sure I'd get used to it eventually.

Gyarados was planned as a Dragon/Water, but then it's only weakness would be Dragon. In the original R/B/Y, the only Dragon move was Dragon Rage, which does fixed damage.

tri types would be too overpowered, think of sableye who already has no weakness, then if he were given an additional type,he would be able to hit most pokemon for loads of damage and not get hit that hard by others ...

Guys, you do realize that a Pokemon gaining a type isn't necessarily a good thing. Sometimes they add more weaknesses than resistances. For instance,

If it gained a new type, suddenly it wouldn't have every type not very effective against it. I honestly don't think there's a single type you could add that wouldn't break this. Besides, other than giving one more type of attack STAB damage, it would in no way affect Sableye's damage output.

More types /= better. (You need go no further than Magcargo to see that.)

What about Normal? Because of its Ghost type it would keep the immunity to the only type that's SE against Normal: Fighting.

And it would gain a resistance to Ghost. Hooray, that's certainly enough to take a Pokemon from NU to Ubers! STAB damage with Normal attacks too! Like... Return... and... Hyper Beam?

I didn't even think of that! I'm no competitive battler, but surely that would be Uber... Normal+Ghost= PWNING BEAST!

Not even worth discussing. There is no way at all it will happen.

Uh... yeah!

This is why I don't use sarcasm on the internet...
