What's up with the two Shaymins?

So what’s the deal with there being 2 Shaymin’s and Shaymin LvX’s in the last 2 Japanese sets, and which one are we going to be getting in Platinum?

The first set appears in Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky:

IFDS Shaymin

IFDS Shaymin LvX

And the second in Galactic’s Conquest:

GC Shaymin

GC Shaymin LvX

I think both are great…but what’s up with the two different ones; even the pictures are different-similar but different; and again, which one do we get, or do we get both?
 
The Pokemon Shaymin is a legendary that has formes, just like Giratina, meaning if you give it an item in-game it can switch between formes and have new attacks, different base stats, etc.

Since they delayed the hedgehoggy Shaymin (it was supposed to be in our Stormfront, while the one that looks like a reindeer should be in the set coming up), I'm only supposing that they'll put both Shaymin into Platinum. :3
 
Maybe both Shaymin in the set Platinum. But it was really disappointing when it didn't come out in SF, but maybe one of the Lv.X will have to be booted out of the next set. I really do not know yet.
 
It's soooooooooooooo obvious that we will get 5 Shaymin cards in Platinum:
2 Shaymin IFDS (1 from the main set, 1 from the theme deck, both land formes)
1 Shaymin Lv. X (land forme) IFDS
1 Shaymin (sky forme) GC
1 Shaymin Lv. X (sky forme) GC
the main page of pokebeach has a news that say that there are 6 lv. x's in platinum... which i'm sure to say as wpm said that they will be the 5 ones from GC and the shaymin lv. x from IFDS. So, if we will get both shaymin lv.x's, why wouldn't we get all the other cards of shaymin in platinum?!

Also, espect to see 5 giratina cards and 5 dialga cards in platinum.

Remember that this set is based on team galatic, the platinum game itself, giratina and shaymin, so what i'm sayin' makes sense.
 
I'm glad I have all you guys here to help me sort these things out. I would love to hear any one elses comments on this.

So with the Shamin LvX's will we be able to have them level up any of the 3 regular Shamins, or are the two types considered to be different pokemon meaning we can have 4 of each type in our decks at the same time?...

Maybe that will happen, but doesn't the Giratina movie have Shaymin Sky Form anyways? It's hard, because it will be very weird having 5 of the same Pokemon printed in 1 set.

It will not be booted out, I don't think you can level up Sky Form from Normal Form, but I'm not sure. The GC Shaymin can not be booted out, and your reasoning behind it were weird. (Not to be rude.)
 
I really don't think we need 5 Shaymin, 5 Dialga, and 5 Giratina. They're all overrated cards, and I'm going to hate pulling them.
 
Deoxys had 6 cards in Ex Deoxys (because of its various formes), so I repeat that we will probably get all those cards of Giratina & Shaymin (because they have other formes too). And if we will get all those giratina and shaymin cards, why would they left some dialga cards out?
Also, Deoxys' cards in the ex series were all just named Deoxys without Attack, Normal, Speed or Defense in the card name and I guess that hapened because it was a gen III pokemon that got out in gen III set. But in LA, deoxys had its name specific on each of its cards. I think that will happen with giratina and shaymin (they are gen IV pokemon that are being released on gen IV sets). Since they don't say "sky forme", "origin forme", ect. on its cards, I'm sure you can put a shaymin lv.x (sky forme) on a shaymin (land forme), for example. And maybe in the future, if we get a 5th gen, they will put "sky forme", "origin forme", etc. in their 5th gen cards name. But this is just especulation...

I believe the Deoxys thing was just that way due to the nature of Deoxys, ever since it's been out, it's had different forms

I don't believe we will get 5 different cards of Dia, Gir, and Shay....with the way hey have been doing most pokemon that they have released more than one card of in a set, outside of Deoxys (which has always had different forms, as I stated), I believe there will probaby br 2 of Gir, 2 Dia, 2 of each Shay form and both Shay Lv. X's
 
There won't be 2 of each Shaymin forme AND the Lv. X, there's only 5 Shaymin cards available for us to get.
 
Unless Shaymin Lv X will be out in a tin, I doubt I will ever have one anyway.

Why is Dialga so much more popular than Palkia anyway?
 
It's not more popular than Palkia. It's just that it appeared on the 11th movie while Palkia didn't, so Dialga has more cards than Palkia because IFDS has 2 Dialga cards and no Palkia card.

EDIT: Oh, even if we don't get 5 giratina cards and 5 dialga cards, we will get at least 3 of each:
-main set giratina & dialga g;
-the giratina and dialga from the entry pack decks;
-and the lv.x's: giratina and dialga g...

But I still believe we will get 5 cards of giratina, dialga and shaymin...
 
I think Pop9 will have those promos that were released with galatic's conquest (darkrai g, carnivine g, ect.). And they don't usually release cards from a main set as black star promos (the only one that I know that was released as promo and was from a main set is mew from the japanese fossil set). But the opposite usually happens (majestic dawn and others). I was expecting that we were going to get those promos I mentioned above in Platinum but it seems not.
