Pokemon Which Pokémon Should Gain New Formes?

RE: Are there any Pokémon that you want to gain a new form?

I just want a pokemon game where if you breed two pokemon the hatchling is a combination of the two parents, a hybrid.
Haven't you seen the pokemon fusions or cool artwork based on them?

Maybe if it was introduced step by step. For example where only certain carefully picked combinations produce such results...or even better if it was involving new pokemon that are created with that in mind (like reverse eeveelution concepts), or pokemon that are made to compliment existing ones with such a system.
But not a general "lets make anything produce hybrids with anything"-take on it <__<
I would not like that at all.
It sounds messy and chaotic.

RE: Are there any Pokémon that you want to gain a new form?

For the sake of this discussion, I'm assuming 'forms' means 'Formes', like Shaymin or the weather trio's Therian Formes, rather than new evolutions or Mega Evolutions.

I admit, I'd like to see more gender dimorphism in Pokemon. I thought the G4 gender differences were kind of cool, if perhaps too subtle in a lot of cases. And, though it sounds immature I'm sure, I hate it when I see a Pokemon that is mostly humanshaped and obviously looks like a male or female and isn't. Mr. Mime is a particular offender, having 'Mister' in its name. Braixen is the other main one, Delphox to a lesser degree. Delphox's 'gown' is a wizard's robe, sure, but Braixen's fur looks like a skirt. Just narrowing the fur on Braixen's waist and Delphox's legs would have gone a long way ...

I do understand why they don't do this, though. Most people didn't care, and there's no point taking up memory/code space for things few people care about. I'm almost surprised they haven't undone the gender dimorphism that they did in G4.

RE: Are there any Pokémon that you want to gain a new form?

Aside from Politoed? No.

Huehuehue, ;). Honestly, I'd prefer if most permanent basic Pokémon had some kind of alternate forme excluding Mega Evolution. Obviously, it'd unlock new types and moves for each respective Pokémon and add more variety to an ever growing base of Pokémon.

Who doesn't want to see a dragon form of Dunsparce?

RE: Are there any Pokémon that you want to gain a new form?

Raichu! Hes my favorite pokemon and has been around since day 1. I like that they added pichu below pikachu but why not add a third evolution? Its not like raichu is overpowered.

If you mean have Richu evolve, that wont happen, sadly. If they had a pokemon evolve for a 3rd time it would break a rule that has been followed since Gen 1. Know pokemon can evolve 3 time(Excluding Megas). I do wish some pokes that are incomplete could evolve a little farther though.

RE: Are there any Pokémon that you want to gain a new form?

I personally think that Sableye should get a form change where if it is given a gem it becomes that gems type BUT due to the gem being enlarged mega Sableye shouldn't be able to use it. I just think of this because I really don't like M Sableye.

Moved to "General Pokémon Discussion" from "VG News & General Discussion" since Pokémon form speculation pertains to the series and not just the video games. :)

I think a gem themed form change would be a great idea, but they'd probably use a new Pokemon for that instead of retconning an existing Pokemon for it.

For that matter, I don't think any existing Pokemon period would get a new form (unless you count Mega Evolutions as "forms") with the exception of some 6th gen Pokemon. Every Pokemon that has an alternate form seems to be designed to have one from the get go, they either start out with an alternate form or gain one in the third version/sequel. And even then, that's mainly legendaries. They've never just randomly given a Pokemon multiple forms some generations later.

Castform feels like such a waste since it's existence.

The only thing people usually think of when "new forms" and "Castform" are mentioned, is a Sandstorm form for it. But Sandstorm isn't that much of an actual weather, which is why it doesn't exist...although that's a poor excuse given the fantastical setting of the pokemon world...

but if they'd change their mind all of a sudden, it would obviously be a.....wait. It's not obvious at all actually. The Sand-theme has been covered by both Rock and Ground and is not inherent or exclusive to either of them.
I'd say Ground for Castform though, as it seems like the "softer" and more elemental of the two, even though both Sandstorm and Sand-Weather-ball are both Rock-type moves.

Of course it'd gain a few moves to it's learnset
-Sand Tomb to go along with WaterGun/Ember/PowderSnow
-Sandstorm to go along with RainDance/SunnyDay/Hail
-and a new move to go along with HydroPump/FireBlast/Blizzard
we are desperately lacking a powerful Sand-based move as it is anyway. A Ground-type variation of Thunder (110P special move) with 100% accuracy in Sandstorm and 70% otherwise, with a chance to lower accuracy.

However, this is all just cute, unless Castform improves significantly. What I would lvoe to see is a Wormadam-esque evolution for it, where it is stuck in whatever weather-form it evolved with.

Evolution method:
leveling up in natural weather battle after Lv35
(while holding a new weather-related item if necessary for GF-consistency logic)
As with Wormadams coats, depending on what weather it was, it's stats/type, and most importantly, ability varies.

Castform-evo-Rain
Type: Water
Ability: Drizzle
Stats:
100-70-100-90-110-70
+Water Spout

Castform-evo-Sun
Type: Fire
Ability: Drought
Stats:
100-70-70-110-90-100
+Eruption

Castform-evo-Hail
Type: Ice
Ability: Snow Warning
Stats:
100-70-90-110-70-100
+Freeze-Dry

Castform-evo-Sand
Type: Ground
Ability: Sandstream
Stats
100-70-110-90-100-70
+Stealth Rock

and all of them gain Whirlwind and Tailwind as a regular move and "LeafStorm" as a relearnable move.

I'm not finished though.

I've waited generations for GF to introduce a wind-based weather effect...but instead they already made an OP wind-based weather exclusive to a signature ability of the most broken Pokemon in existence as a counterpart to the Primal OP-weather abilities...
Gamefreak please, would it not make sense to have a regular wind-based weather before adding what is basically already a legendary version of it? /facepalm

So speculating further on things we will never see, lets pretend Strong-wind as a weather is introduced to the games, regular Castform gains a Flying-type wind-form, and with it a Wind-evolution

Castform-evo-Wind
Type: Flying
Ability: whatever it'd be called
Stats
100-70-90-70-100-110
+Hurricane

and viola, Castform fixed. Changed from an interesting wasted useless gimmick-pokemon, to THE signature weather inducer of the game.

Mitja I like your idea, I did imagine castform needed some kind of evolution that will make him keep the type. However I over imagined myself by having their evolution representing each type

Castform NORMAL
-Sunny Castform - FIRE - Ability - Forecast [Sunny Weather]
-Rain Castform - WATER - Ability - Forecast [Rainy Weather]
-Snow-cloud Castform - ICE - Ability - Forecast [Hail Weather]
-Sandstorm Castform - GROUND - Ability - Forecast [Sandstorm Weather]
-Windy Castform - FLYING - Ability - Forecast [Windy Weather]
-Dusty Castform - STEEL - Ability - Forecast [Meteor Weather] - Usually happen in Urban Area [Construction site/wasteland]
- Poison Castform - POISON - Ability - Forecast [Toxic Rain Weather] - Large City

For the sake of this example let say Castform evolve into a pokemon named castforce, but unlike castform, castforce can't change it's form once evolved.

- Castforce
--[NORMAL/FAIRY] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Castform
- Flareburst Castforce
--[FIRE/GRASS] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Sunny Castform
- Thunderstorm Castforce
--[WATER/ELECTRIC]Lv Up w/Weather Meter Rain Castform
- Blizzard Castforce
--[ICE/BUG] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Snow-cloud Castform
- Freakstorm Castforce
--[GROUND/ROCK] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Sandstorm Castform
- Tempest Castforce
--[FLYING/DRAGON] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Windy Castform
- Meteor Castforce
--[STEEL/DARK] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Dusty Castform
- Eeriee Castforce
--[GHOST/PSYCHIC] Lv Up w/Weather Meter Foggy Castform
- Spiral Castforce
--[POISON/FIGHTING]Lv Up w/Weather Meter Poison Castform

I think Zygarde could benefit from a forme change. Legendaries are typically strong choices, however, Zygarde struggles to find use. Looking at it's ability, I got the impression that it could also effect Reshiram and Zekrom's abilities, because they are aura abilities. Instead, they only affect Xerneas and Yveltal. And even then, it doesn't do very well, because Xerneas and Yveltal have type advantages against Zygarde. Zygarde's typing isn't bad, but because of it's typing, it can be compared to Flygon and Garchomp, which are usually much preferable. In single battles, it's signature move, Land's Wrath, is inferior to Earthquake.

If Zygarde were to be more of a threat to Xerneas and Yveltal, it's typing would have to change, which doesn't seem very likely, because then it would no longer get STAB from it's signature move. Perhaps it's typing could be Steel or Poison to make it stronger against Xerneas, and another type such as Electric to make it stronger against Yveltal. This would make it very weak to Ground, it's own previous type, so it might benefit from Levitate (perhaps a new form for Zygarde would float). I don't think it's very likely that it's ability would change, considering that Aura Break is Zygarde's signature ability.

Another change that would help Zygarde against Xerneas and Yveltal would be to change it's base speed to 100, putting it just above the two.

If Zygarde was intended to balance Xerneas and Yveltal, a form change like the one described above would do a much better job than the Zygarde that we have already.

Two Ground type moves were found in the coding for XY called Thousand Waves and Thousand Arrows that have green hexagons in their animations. The former can hit and ground Flying/Levitating Pokemon. I'd bet money on these being signature moves for one or two new Zygarde formes/megas corresponding with a third version or sequel(s).

That's the single pokemon we can 100% safely assume is getting new formes before this generation is over though..

I'm even confindent we are getting 2 of them, as it has 2 hidden moves, which are both replacements for Lands Wrath (the 3 moves are clones except the hidden 2 have an extra effect) upon form-change...just like Kyurems IceBurn/FreezeShock replace Glaciate, while not being able to learn either of them any other way or simultaneously.
That essentially confirmes XY2 (or at least that it's going to be two versions)
To me it even seems obvious the formes will be some kind of counterbalancing-act against Xerneas OR Yveltal depending on which one wasn't featured in XY1 of either sequel, as one move hits airborne pokes and the other traps grounded ones.

All that's missing is an Inverse battle ability to fix it's intentionally awful type match-up with the other 2 mascots.

I would love to see Voltorb in different Pokeball forms.. always thought that it would be nice if Voltorb will change its form depends on which Pokeball you caught it with or something like that.
I am not sure what will change between each form, if any, ( maybe not type because it will copy from Rotom's forms idea) but I think everyone can agree that they thought of a Master Ball Electrode at least once so imagine other things like Dusk (Ball) Voltorb that evolves into Dusk Electrode with the purple smog around it, Premier Electrode that is all white and looks like an egg (with a face) and Master Electrode - Try to imagine Electrode's white eyes with the M letter on the master ball as its mouth.

like this, right?

would be nice. and it would add a gimmick to an otherwise forgettable (/rather weak) pokemon kinda like Vivillons forms.

Indeed lol only more complex then simply slapping Voltorb's face on a Level ball. But yeah
(Maybe slapping Voltorb's face but then to get more creative in Electrode's design)

There should be a Mountains pattern for Vivillion for regions near mountains. Example: Western Colorado/all of Colorado

A United States of America Vivillion. It will have the flag as it's pattern. You could also do it with other cool flags like Sweden and Puerto Rico.

I also want a new form for the Legendary Bird trios. Like what they did with Forces of Nature.

What about the Danish flag, isn't that cool..? ;-;

I agree with you on both parts though! Maybe add weather-like forms to the Bird trio? Drought w. Moltres, Drizzle w. Zapdos and Snow Warning w. Articuno, I think it'd be very cool and make them a bit more interesting again :)

Also love those Voltorbs! They're so cute, and I want them to be real so bad! :D
