White Tea & Eels (Aspertia Eels)

Hey everyone this is my first post on this site, and with City tourneys in my state happening this month I figured this is a good of time as any to post my list for Aspertia Eels. This is a variant of White Tea that has mid/late game energy acceleration via eels. My friend and I built it this past weekend and the majority of testing was against Landorous variants and it was quite successful. The only thing I was trying to add in was a second Tool Scrapper but the list is quite tight.

Pokemon (13):

3x Bouffalant DRX
3x Eelektrik NVI
2x Mewtwo EX
2x Tornadus EX
3x Tynamo NVI

Items (20):

1x Computer Search
3x Eviolite
2x Level Ball
2x Max Potion
4x Pokemon Catcher
4x Switch
1x Tool Scrapper
3x Ultra Ball

Supporter (13):

3x Bianca
4x Professor Juniper
4x N
2x Skyla

Stadium (2):

2x Aspertia City Gym

Energy (12):

4x Double Colorless Energy
8x Lightning Energy

Now that you have seen the list, comment below with any suggestions/criticism. Let me know what you think, Thanks! -Fish Ninja

-1 Bouff
+1 Tynamo (preferably Thunder Wave)

3 Bouff is overkill, 2 will be enough, plus its nice and bulky.
4 Tynamo has been a staple.

I see where you are coming from, but this deck doesn't rely on getting multiple eels to the bench as fast as possible, it's closer to white tea than an eel variant. Instead, using them just as a means for mid game acceleration but I try to keep excess tynamos off the bench. When I begin to set them up, my opponent will most likely use several resources to KO because they think I have to have them. I have been thinking of dropping to 2 bouffalant for another attacker but I figured I'd just rather have him over another EX.

lmao dustin i love the username! I actually posted the list here yesterday for review (although no responses) as well as on http://google.com/ and pokegym forums where i received several almost decent suggestions, namely regigigas ex. you should check them out.

Bahaha I posted on here and six prizes today, meh here but many comments on 6ps. I took a look and yea Gigas seems ok but the only thing I could see dropping is a bouffalant. Idk though ill test wed. Also I'll test the fourth tynamo suggestions as well, but since the eels aren't the focus of the deck I don't think it's as necessary, also risks opening lone tynamo more so.

I feel that Cheren is a better choice in Eel variants, because you can't just discard your whole hand like you can in Darkrai.

The item line is quite similar, as far as dropping items out of the hand, ultra and level balls, eviolites, and aspersia. Also they are nice for the opposing late game N. however sometimes they can be cloggy if drawn in multiples. I'll test with Cheren this wed. and see how it compares. Usually running eels I feel like Bianca>>cheren, simply because it has the potential to burn a hand away sending multiple energy to the discard to set up for dynamotors.

I like the card in there a lot more than Bianca it could just be my play style though. I also feel that you need at least one Zekrom B/W.

I was considering Zekrom BW when originally putting the list together, but besides tornadus EX and Darkrai what is Zekrom meant to counter?

^ nothing but other rogue Pokémon weak to lightning like empoleon and tornadus epo. granted zekrom deals with TEX and non-EXs better than bouff, but bouff is a better check to every other EX in the format and doesn't require eviolite to trade prizes in your favor where as zekrom (even against TEX) requires an eviolite to avoid being revenge KO'd after it's first attack. 'though i will still be testing out a 1of zekrom and a 1of regigigas (separately) in the near future.

So I was thinking:

-1 Bouff
-1 Bianca

+1 Roserade DRX
+1 Roselia DRX

May be a terrible idea but after countless games today I have used juniper/ultra ball/comp search to discard dead level balls mid/late game after setting up 1-2 eels. Thoughts?

If youre having problems with dead level balls, why not just take one or two out? Youre expected to run into dead search cards in any deck that runs tutors for their setup, and besides, those are SUPPOSED to be your ultra ball/cpu search fodder late game; its better than discarding otherwise useful cards right?

Tried 1-1 roserade out with very lack luster results, ended up trying:

-2 level ball
-1 Bianca

+1 Tool Scrapper
+1 Ultra Ball
+1 Skyla

The above changes have been quite successful. Also testing potions over max potions and Zekrom over one bouffalant.

I went to a city's tournament yesterday and took this list, and it went very well. I ended up going 6/0 in Swiss loosing to a friend running Keldeo/Blastoise 2/1 in top 8. The following is the list that I used:

Pokemon (13):

2x Bouffalant DRX
3x Eelektrik NVI
2x Mewtwo EX
2x Tornadus EX
3x Tynamo NVI
1x Zekrom BW

Items (20):

1x Computer Search
3x Eviolite
1x Max Potion
2x Pluspower
4x Pokemon Catcher
4x Switch
1x Tool Scrapper
4x Ultra Ball

Supporters (13):

2x Bianca
4x Professor Juniper
4x N
3x Skyla

Stadiums (2)

2x Aspertia City Gym

Energy (12)

4x Double Colorless Energy
8x Lightning Energy

I want to fit in at least one sky arrow bridge. I ended up opening lone tynamo in 3/6 then double tynamo in the final round causing me to waste resources early on to get out of the active, many times using Skyla for a switch.

Things I'm considering changing:

1x Zekrom BW-- This guy mainly takes care of Tornadus EX, Sigilyph, and Empoleon. It did ok yesterday, but it only KOed one Tornadus, I never saw a Sigilyph, and no Empoleon. But it's 130 hp was a nice shield for a few games and w outrage set up a few KOs for Mewtwo & Bouff. I just feel like it could be better but I feared the quad Sigilyph and seeing as tornadus is quite good, I figured it was the best option.

1x Max Potion-- This saved me a ton yesterday. I originally had two in the list but dropped on to fit in a second Pluspower. I wish I could fit in a second, but the list is so tight it doesn't seem like I can.

1x Tool Scrapper-- Once again love this card, wish I could fit in another but with the two Pluspower, it seems ok at one.

Any suggestions of what to drop for a Sky Arrow Bridge? I have a few more city events coming up soon so all suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
