BW/BW2 Why Do People Dislike Generation 5?

I think it's kind of stupid to make a definite decision on liking Gen V or not. Wait until the games come out to decide. You can't judge the entire generation from what little information we have.

i dont know, but i think it will be faster for the triple battles because the more pokemon you have out, the less time you'll battle.

That's true, and I kind of like that idea. I just don't understand how we're supposed to strategize in order to win the battle...?

I'm hearing that alot of people don't like the new Generation 5 Pokemon, what is it about them that they don't like?

i wonder that too... maybe they got sick of the repeating story for the past two gens, and think Gen. 5 will be the same...

My only main complaint about Gen 5 is Triple Battles, like do we really need them? I'd rather do Double Battles cause they're less stressful and more fun. I'll probably adjust to Triples eventually but I don't like them.

Triples just makes it seem like a 5 second Chess match like you're some kind of Bobby Fischer playing Pokemon. I'm just hoping Nintendo, Game Freak, and the sequel to PBR gives players the choice to compete in Doubles or Triples.

Being restricted to just Triples kinda hurts the fun of the game in general IMO and personally would rather not see it becoming the norm for VGC Tournies. Spliting it into 2 formats would be better IMO.

You've only seen a couple of seconds of triple battles you might actually like them.

@Above posts: According to a translation made by Serebii, triple battles will differ from other battles in terms of damage distribution, depending on the order of the Pokémon.

Anyhoo, I think people are criticising Black & White for its designs more than anything. Some of the most basic aspects of the design such as shape and color seem out of whack. Maybe a little too much so. Different design teams have different designs. I personally think that some designs from this generation mesh very well with those of its predecessors. Like Zorua and Zoroark for example, who could easily pass as 1st/2nd Gen Pokémon IMO.

I THOUGHT I disliked Gen5 at first, due to the color scheme of the first ten or so Pokemon released. SO much neon! It really suprised me. But as always, everyone will get used to it.
Previous generations stuck to more of a color scheme, Gen1 was pretty basic and natural. Gen2 was a lot of browns, reds, light blues and light oranges. Gen3 was tropical colors. Gen4 was a lot of black, purple, and super-saturated colors. I'm definitely rambling now :3

I actually like all the Pokemon that has been revealed so far in this generation

my faves for now are Gochiruzeru, Giaru, Wooguru, Tsutarja and Kibago

Some people might not be liking the 5th generations probably because of the way the Pokemon look like. Many have actually said that they do look like Digimon. It might get some time to get used to the new Pokemon. I myself don't really like about 1 or 2 of the Pokemon, though I will most likely get used to the new Pokemon ones I see them in action like in the anime and games.

The only pokemon I'm not really a fan of would be Giaru... (Or should I just write "Gear"?)
I like almost all of them (Even giaru/gear, just don't think it's awesome)
My favourites are Wooguru, meguroku, shimama, mijumaru, pokabu and tsutaja :D

ps. Why do people spell it "Tsutarja" and "Musharna"? Just curious

People dislike it because it's new, and they're not used to it yet.

And because it's not from their childhood like the Godly 1st and 2nd generation that shall not be spoken bad about what so ever, speaking bad it is punishable by death, or getting flamed.

=_=

Hm, it's been a mixed bag for me so far. I can't say there are any I strongly like though, except possibly Reshiram.
The blocky red and blue dinosaur thing that first appeared with Rankurusu and G-something-zeru is the by far worst Pokemon I've ever seen (in case I didn't make that clear in some of my other posts, haha).

However, I think most of the others are fine, after having gotten used to them for a few days.

Like:
Tsutaja
Pokabu
Rankurusu
Kibago
Minezumi
Wooguru
Doryuuzu
Evolved Mijumaru
Zorua
Zoroark
Reshiram
Zekrom

Dislike:
Munna
Gear
Shimama
Desukan
Blocky-blue-red-dinosaur-ugly-burn-in-heck-thing

The rest I'm indifferent to =P.

I think the new Pokemon is the only thing that's really putting some people off. Some people were feeling concerned about triple battles, but I think the new revelation that they will be affected by positioning will add a fun new dimension of strategy that will be welcomed by most of the community.

Ok. This is going nowhere.
