Why do you play Pokemon?

I started to love pokemon since 2nd grade, buying the cards and watching the show. I never owned any of rby but played it on my cousin gameboy, then i got gold, silver, crystal in about 3-4 grade. after rs i hated pokemon, dont remember why, but in 5th i got 2 friends who dragged me into it again, so i bought a rs or ss theme deck and got obsessed with the cards. soon in 6 or 7th grade i got emerald. And here i am now with Diamond and dp cards....again

It became a past time... once you've played it, it sorta gives you the experience of playing it again even if the others are not playing anymore... maybe because of the memories and experiences pokemon has given you in your life... its really something to remember... pokemon also makes youlevel upin real life since you learn values from the game and the show too (unless you don't respect the script writer and wants to alter whatshould have happend in the story)...

I started when it first came out (I was 10), traded cards at school. I went to our local league a few times and played a lot with a friend of mine. I quit when our league stopped, which was sometime just after Neo4.
I just started playing again since March I suppose, because I never had the chance to go to real tournaments (we don't have a car and I wasn't allowed to travel by train by myself while I was 10-12, which is kinda obvious) and now I do. I like it better than other games because I just like the cards (only a few cards, but still) and I build decks that are different every match, so I can test my own feeling for strategy over and over again. Oh and I love winning a tournament some time =D

I started to play Pokemon because I was just truly amazed of the beaultiful sight of a shiny card. (Ninetales in my bio for example.) I wanted to get more and more shinies and I eventually got a bunch of them. I then stopped myself and thought they were stupid and converted to Yu-Gi-Ohism. My mom said it wasn't right to have control of demonic creatures (as a Christian) so I went back to Pokemon. Now here I am. I found out about tournaments in this Boy Scout magazine and I went to one and got 2nd place. HOOOORAY!! I was very happy to come back to the game and play competitvely. My dad says,"If you are going to do something, do it to the best of your ability," so I spend most of my money on cards. :D I try to win and make Worlds a motivation to take me to tournaments. (She wants to go to Florida too you know.) So now I am very happy with the cards I have and continue to go in life living with these wonderful Japanese creatures. Espcially Espeon. GO POKEMON!!

right now i play as a reason to get out and meet more people and and i am really like the advanced play and all the thought and play testing that go into a really good deck
