BW/BW2 Why is B/W different then others?

I agree we do need a change from the whole mom, lab, pokemon, people talk, battle youre rival, get youre pokedex. Im rlly exited about this new game and hope it delivers.

I've played since Blue Version came out in Singapore. The constant change and evolutions of Pokemon throughout the years till Black and White; is one of the best things to see. That is why im playing Pokemon till today. Here i come Wargle!

There has been drastic changes from the old games to these new upcoming Pokemon games. I am glad that there are going to be some changes when started from the beginning. Hopefully there are new things as well when traveling instead of the same old things seen from the previous Pokemon games.

They said they were going to drastically change the Pokemon formula. I think one quote said, "you won't even recognize this as Pokemon" or something like that. So yeah, change is good in a game series that's been the same the past 10+ years.

dmaster out.

i've heard about that too, i think...

Without big change, Pokemon would die. I know that people (especially kids) need constant stimulation. Without constant stimulation, people(especially kids) get bored and stop playing it. Pokemon needs to keep things fresh.

Why is repetition bad? I mean... we keep buying the games, why should developers put any extra effort?

In all honesty though, they will change the games up quite a bit, from what it seems. So far, there seems to be an actual story to the games. Team Rocket won't be the worst thing that comes up, it seems. I believe jokes from the original could do the newer stuff well. B/W is attracting a lot of older players. IDK how, but they should encorperate cheesy lines that we all remember characters saying into the game... IDK though.

Am I the only one who noticed how the walking sprites are a bit taller? This is one of the things Gamefreak changed.

i noticed that

i started with emerald (which is why i love blaziken) but ive played the remakes of rbg and gsc and im kind of disappointed that the beginning of the games are almost the exact same. the only real differences are that in hgss there doesnt seem 2b a real reason for getting a starter and in rse you move from johto to hoenn and in rse and dp you are attacked by wild pokemon. i like the change because it was getting a little old

I don't really see this thread getting that much off-topic yet at least. You didn't need to post that if you reported it anyway.

Well, there was changes in R/S too, where the starter pokemon should battle out in route 101 right after you picked it.
In the first games, you should pick your starter in the lab.
I like they make it different in these games. It's more fun instead of the same thing all the time, and i think this is a very interesting way, with the starterpokemons in a gift, and the professor come to visit. I'm looking forward to try it myself:D

Why the change? Because it's been the same for so many damn years. It's time to change it up a bit. Game Freak is a company that loves their games and puts a lot of effort into them. They listened to critics and found out that people are starting to get bored of the same old, so they made up for it with Black and White. They pretty much mastered the current formular with HeartGold and SoulSilver.

I noticed someone saying that people are still buying the games, and thus change is not necessary. This would be true, if people didn't already start to get annoyed with the repetitiveness of the games. Many people, especially the ones that have been playing for a long time, are starting to get bored with the same old story line. You need to keep your buyers happy! Instead of waiting until they are no longer pleased with the product. If they get disappointed to often, they will eventually stop buying the games.

Like most have said here, change is for the best, and many of us are tired of the same basic plot in the games. I think while its fun for those small changes from game to game, I really appreciate the much larger and more noticeable.

I feel the little changes are important to keep things intresting and tbh the lab thing was getting old anyway

i just hope theres a wide vary of pokemon trainers, like most breeders has the same pokemon in ruby, most aces had the same pokemon, i dont wanna battle a trainer with a raticate then walk five feet and battle another trainer with a raticate, give us some more variety in types.
