I would say New Super Mario Bros. Wii, because the game is just plain epic. I really love playing the Mario series, and think this is one of the best Wii Games.

Reason: It was an awesome game, but without all my friends it was kind of... Boring. But it was still worth spending the money on, even though it was only fun when playing with certain people. It's kind of like Pokemon Platinum, it's not all that fun to battle CPUs, but battling friends? That's awesome. =3

Actually, never mind. New Super Mario Bros Wii was fun, but I've played a better one. I think Deadly Creatures was the best Wii game of 2009. The graphics could have been better, but the controls, feel, look (as in the way you see the world), and creativity were just amazing. And I haven't found any other game where you can play as a ninja Taratantula. That game was amazing for me, but sadly nobody bought it or knew about it because it was poorly advertised. It only sells for 15$ now, but I think it's one of the best games ever made.

REASON: New Super Mario Bros Wii breaks new ground. Not only is it an incredibly fun platformer (one of the only good ones for the Wii, actually), but it balances skill level so that anyone can enjoy the game. The first few levels are easy, but as you progress through the game, some levels can get pretty hard. This game pleases not only master gamers (myself included), it also introduces newer players to a great environment of gaming. The combination of classic Mario Bros. elements with new, creative elements makes for a very fun game all around. By far the best game of the year, if not the best in many years.
