This is pretty much a Gust of Wind for the old days(Switch the active pokemon with one of their bench pokemon of your choice) aka "Bright Look". Im so happy we got a card like this. Do you think this will make SP cough cough LuxChomp not that good anymore. Think about pay 70 dollars for Luxray or 2 dollar or whatever the price for Pokemon Catcher.

What exactly does this card do (the actual translation of the card)? I know what Gust of Wind does, but I was wondering if it was just the tiniest bit different somehow..

More like he can't read Japanese. Come to think of it, neither can I. What exactly does this card do, and why does it "counter" SP?

The card is a direct reprint of Gust of Wind from Base Set just given a different name. Kind of like Pokemon Breeder became Rare Candy.

How it counters SP is beyond me. All it really does is replace Lux X

Oh wow . . . I was already expecting a Luxray price drop since I'm pretty sure PL is being rotated, but this makes him completely redundant.

You're going to still want Luxray to get around the new Trainer Locking Ability and Vileplume. :p

dmaster out.

Consider that Luxray GL lvX is searchable while pokemon catcher isn't. This card won't make Luxray GL lvX completely redundant but it just gives other decks the chance to play a card similar to it without having to add a 1-1 Lux GL lvX w/4 poketurn which some decks will have a hard time doing. In which case, shelling out a good $80 which is a very hefty cost especially to those who don't own it. That's not to say that this won't be one of the more valuable trainers from the B/W set. I won't be surprised if this card goes for $10-$15 a piece.

Will it make SP decks weaker, or not as good? Who knows. SP decks are still pretty fast and consistent. All Pokemon Catcher will do is open up more options for stage 1/ stage 2 decks.

Good points. I didnt think about trainer look. I agree with the statement about not having to run a 1-1 line. I still believe that Luxray will still fall. And as far as trainer lock go. It will not be that big "I think" after rotations.

Are you kidding me? These Trainers are so good, Trainer lock will almost be essential for other decks to keep up. >_> Otherwise, they give up six easy Prizes.

dmaster out.

Gust of Wind WHOOHOO (all we need now is energy removal)

But even so, back in the day, there were not a lot of good consistent trainer locking cards. They only had Dark Vileplume, a stage 2 with only 60 measly HP. Now it's effectively been reprinted, although it does not control Su/St play; however, it has 120 HP, which can last quite a lot longer.

As has been previously stated, this will give other decks a chance to yank up some Pokemon from the bench without having to rely on Bright Look. However Vileplume, which is very big right now, can still block it, and Luxray GL LV.X is still searchable, so I highly doubt that this will make Lux obsolete. I still think, up until the new rotation, Luxray GL LV.X will still remain very very strong, even with trainer lock running around, because decks with Luxray know how to get around that sort of thing.

Gust of Wind is amazing, but if trainer lock is big then it's gonna struggle. Luxray GL Lv X is still going to have it uses and SP is going to still be as playable as ever.

I HATE this card. Hateithateithateit. It kills MagneGatr...
Oh well. Maybe Trainer Lock will stop lots of decks from running it... :/
Luxray definitely will not be used as much but will still be used due to Trainer-Lock decks.

Agh. I have three spots in my deck for Pokemon switchers. I have a Switch and two Warp Points, but now this? *Sigh* I have no idea what to do.

Tifton, Vileplume is a tech. It can theoretically be run with anything. A good pairing I have seen is Jumpluff HGSS, but in reality you can run it with a lot of things.

I can't believe some of you guys didn't know what a Gust of Wind is...

btw @DNA: If you're talking about Gochiruzeru, it has 130 HP... just a correction...
