Will You Be At US Nationals 2007?

For reasons mentioned in this thread, I decided to submit a pledge to pledgebank.com.

The goal of this pledge to ensure the attendance for US Nationals is very high. Higher than last year. I want US National Championship 2007 to be the largest Pokemon TCG tournament ever.

I intend to go to US Nationals if 68 other Americans are willing to attend Nationals on their own money as well. If you intend to go to US Nationals, even if you don't receive travel money from POP, please sign the pledge.

Also, I intend to go to US Nationals if 20 other Lusby-area people go. If you live in live within 100 miles of Lusby, and you intend to go to US Nationals, even if you don't receive travel money from POP, please sign the pledge.

Remember, US Nationals is an open event. You do not have to be invited. The only requirement is that all players must be US residents. It will be held on the weekend (July 7 and 8) at an annual gaming expo called "Origins". More information about Origins can be found here. While you're at it, check out Matt Riddle's Origins article, which contains some good advice for surviving the convention.:)

Thanx for reading, if you have any questions as to why I am doing this or anything post them here. Those of you who own Pokemon sites, if you think it's a good idea, please promote this pledge.

I put a lot of thought into this pledge (I came up with the idea over 2 months ago) and I mean every word of it. I really like Pokemon, but I don't really like the thought of spending a few hundred dollars to go somewhere for three days and be away from my computer (which is my life) for something that is really just a recreational activity. Push me. Motivate me. This really has nothing to do with me- I want to promote Nationals. But I am serious about going to Nationals. I'll go if you go...

I'm in the not so likely range...maybe I can go if I win some money or something...

Can you say messed up colors!?!?

We're going to TRY. But it's FAR too soon to make any guesses.

Heck, yes i'll be thier it's like a 2:30 drive. You'll better watch out I have a good chance.

only if I win states&only if the free trip comes w/ it in WISCONSIN!!! impossible  *hides in corner*

It's good we have people interested in Nats 2007, but this pledge is only for people who intend to pay their own way- just want to make that clear.

But, winning a trip does not invalidate one's signature.

It is about an 8 hour drive, but we are thinking about. My kids have recently taken up the game and love it (6yrs and 12 yrs) plus my wife and I are even thinking of playing in it. We probably havent got much chance, but it would make a nice summer vacation. :D

Here is a much better question: How can you play this game and NOT go to Nationals?
This tournament is the reason you play.

Where is it at? I can't go if it is too far away; I have A LOT of homework over the weekends...
How about you read the first post before you ask stupid questions?

The first post doesn't give a location, other than saying "Origins" and giving a link. Yes, I know they could click on the link to find out where Origins is located, but I think it would be helpful to include the city and state.

For the record, Nationals/Origins is in Columbus, Ohio.
