Bulbasaur. But I have never liked the grass starters as much as the water.

Mine is Naetle because when it evolve into Dodaitoise, it looks very strong & powerful.... 
As far as looks go water is best. And that new fire starter sucks!

Treecko. Useful moveset.
Bulbasaur: Very plain, mostly generic grass attacks.
Chikorita: PUrely grass, though second best
Naetle: Appartantly, it's more suited to ground-based attacks.
But overall I prefer Fire type's 'cause there's a ridiculous amount of Water/Grass.

Actually, I know someone who has already beaten D/P, He ordered it from Japan, he says that the Water is the Worst stat wise, and the Monkey is MUCH Better.
