Xbox 360: recomendation for games?

Only reason I had to buy a NEW 360 was because my previous one had been stolen, not because of failure.
Ok with the price limit aside what is everybody's favorite game for the 360? So far i really appreciate all the recommendations, but i would really like to know exactly what you guys think i should get. Thanks in advance.

Halo Wars isn't great because Bungee didn't develop it. When you try to take a FPS and attempt to turn it into an RTS, you will fail, especially when the original company that made the game isn't developing it. The biggest problem with this game is that even for a console RTS, it's limited in both gameplay and multiplayer. It doesn't suck, but if a friend asked me what a good RTS is, I would not say Halo Wars.

Oh, you meant XIII. On the Xbox, Final Fantasy 13 is just not as good as on the PS3. PS3 has the Blu-Ray graphics that make it so amazing. PS3 graphics are a 1080p, whereas Xbox graphics are 1080i. It's a slight difference, but in the end the PS3 beats the Xbox in graphics. Things like that are never significant enough to worry about on the PS3, but if you had a choice between getting the game for Xbox or PS3, why would you choose Xbox?
Also, I own both an Xbox and a PS3, and I've been Red Ring of Death'd twice, and I've gotten one E74 error. My PS3 has never had one problem. Things like console technical problems vary from person to person, so you can't just go by personal experience.

ANYWAY, I own a 360 myself, and I have found myself playing Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, (a new DLC just came out, "The Passing". It's quite good) Splinter Cell: Conviction, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and on occasion Modern Warfare 1. Unfortunately, PS3 gets the better titles. Heavy Rain, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, that kind of stuff. Most of the multi-console titles are better on PS3 (except for Modern Warfare 2, because Infinity Ward loves Xbox way more than PS3, and way more than PC).
It all depends on what kind of games you like. There are some good releases coming later this year, like Fallout New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption; or you could wait until Gears of War 3 comes out next year.But considering your price range, there aren't many things you CAN buy. I'd go for used version of some of the games I mentioned above. Older games like Red Faction Guerrilla, Prototype, and the original Bioshock go for around 25 to 30 dollars used (even less if you trade in games towards new ones). I'm not a fan of the Halo series, but if you can't get Modern Warfare 2, that or Bad Company 2 are the best alternatives in my opinion (that and Modern Warfare 1).

3 Discs huh? Really? Cool. Sure it may take a long time to beat, but who likes a game that you beat in 10 hours or less?
Im getting it for my Bday tomorrow and cant wait. Im not as picky as others are for the little details. (linear storyline ect)
And dragon age origins IS a good game. I own it and suck at it, but its really fun. The graphics are better then any PC imo. (due to HD TV)
So I suppose you agree with the rest of my choices listed?
Also, just no. Prototype sucks. Its overly bloody and has horrible graphics and gameplay.
It's looking like FF XIII, Bioshock 1/2, Mass Effect 1/2, MW2 and Dragon Age Origins are the most commonly suggested ones, am i right? Thanks you guys Im thinking i will try to pick up FF XIII (sorry Gale, i don't have a PS3 but i should be getting a $90 HDMI hookup cable for $15 ) and Bioshock for $15, cause thats how much it is at my gamestore.

Cool. Be warned though, Dragon Age is a LONG game. I have 30 hours on it roughly and in barely half way.
Halo 3 and Halo Reach, Mass effect is fun and 2 was cool but halo 3 is all u need.

Final Fantasy 13 isn't any worse gameplay-wise on Xbox than PS3, it just looks and runs differently. Nice deal on the HDMI cable.
Definitely get Bioshock. Maybe after you're done with that you can try Mass Effect. It should have dropped pretty drastically in price if you get it used, or maybe trade in some games.

It happens in most games these days. There's also games in which your goal is doing that (Madworld Wii)
$60>$25 . . . When you buy COD MOD 2. Trust me, it is hyped, because it is great. But if you insist, then get COD World at War at Gamestop. Only $20 NEW (used it is more, don't ask why), and it is better than COD MOD 2 IMHO. So, LMK what you think about $20 COD 5! Thanks
