My Fiancee is determined to try and play fairy types as her main deck, can you guys help me make them as good as they can possibly be? (I know that's not great)

Pokemon:

  • 3x Xerneas EX
    4x Xerneas (Geomancy)
    2x Carbink
    2x Spritzee
    2x Aromatesse
    2x Sigilyph
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 4x Hypnotoxic Laser
    2x Professor's Letter
    3x Superior Energy Retrieval
    3x Ultra Ball
    2x VS Seeker
    3x Lysandre
    1x Lysandre's Trump Card
    4x N
    2x Pokemon Fan Club
    4x Professor Sycamore
    3x Skyla
    2x Fairy Garden
    3x Muscle Bands
Energy:

  • 9x Fairy Energy

Strategy:

Ok so basic strategy is to use either Xerneas EX or Carbink as your main attacker. Generally this deck prefers to go second to try and set up with Geomancy of normal Xerneas, then just keep Geomancying until you have all your energy out in play. Also very important to set up and aromatesse in the first two or three turns if possible. Then even if it costs you a prize once you have all your energy out ideally your bench will be 2x Xerneas EX, 1x Carbink, 1x Aromatesse 1x Sigilyph. 2x Xearneas EX works really well together because with fairy garden and aromatesse they can both attack with X Blast (140 damage, this pokemon can't use X Blast on your next turn) alternating (similar to Donphan decks I guess.) so you can be using X blast each turn with only four fairy energy in play as aromatesse lets you keep moving them around and you can retreat for free. Carbink is mostly used for suicide runs, if the opponent will 1 shot your Xerneas EX then you can send Carbink out, attach as many energy as needed to him, 1 shot their pokemon then Carbink (70hp) will likely die on their retaliatory attack but it's really easy to get carbink up to 180-200 attack. That is why this deck has so many superior energy retrievals because if you get six or seven energy stuck in the graveyard you are going to loose if you can't get them back.

I think this deck has a lot of room to play about with stuff, the muscle bands, one lysandre and the hypnotoxic lasers are mostly just things I threw in to make the numbers up. I am considering maybe two more energy instead. Maybe two execute and a compressor might be worth using instead of one muscle band, one lysandre and one hypnotoxic laser as then your ultra balls and superior energy retrievals are free. Also they help a lot against those pesky inlay discard decks.

I know this deck won't be winning any regionals and time soon, but it's for my fiancee and she just loves to use fairy types. Any help getting it as good as possible would be really helpful.

You should consider showing her Mega Gardevoir EX! The damage capabilities of that Pokemon are astounding. It does 30 for every Fairy Energy in play, and you can use a Spirit Link to evolve it without ending your turn.

Here's what changes I'd make:

-2 Carbink (Cool, but with Gardevoir, a little unnecessary, eh?)
-2 Sigilyph (Again, a little unnecessary with the changes I'm about to recommend.)
-3 Xerneas EX (Cool, but there is a better alternative, which I'll get into below.)
-4 Hypnotoxic Laser (Where we're going, we won't need poison!)
-2 Muscle Band (Where we're going, we won't need -- wait, didn't I just use that quote?)
-3 Superior Energy Retrieval (With the combination of Xerneas' Geomancy and Lysandre's Trump Card, you will seldom need these, especially with a certain card that I'm about to show you.)

+4 Max Potion (Boom! Max Potion. With Aromatisse, you can move all the Energy off a Pokemon with any damage on it, and then you can Max Potion all the damage off. Then, simply move the Energy back on and you're good to go.)
+2 M Gardevoir EX (For reasons already stated.)
+3 Gardevoir EX (Because you need the basic, apparently.)
+2 Gardevoir Spirit Link (You kinda need these, too, unless you fancy ending your turn.)
+2 Florges EX (For only two energy, you can do almost the same damage that a Xerneas EX can do. Handy, no?)
+1 Fairy Garden (Consistency.)
+1 VS Seeker (Consistency.)
+1 Fairy Energy (Consistency and things!)

Hopefully, this makes for a consistent list that will hit hard, and will have considerable bulk to boot! Hope I helped! :D

Hey thanks man, that looks like one hell of a fairy list. I will start trading for some of that. ^_^
