You may look at the title and be like "Hey, what in the name of Arceus are you thinking?" Just listen.
So, Vileplume has sparked quite the controversy, right? All it has to do is sit on the bench and Items are gone. The problem with Seismitoad was it's measly 30 damage it did, taking absolutely forever to knock out Pokemon without the use of cards like Virbank Lasers, which, of course, are rotating out. But lets take another look at Vileplume. It locks the items for both players. So, that brings us back to the Toad. What decks are good against Seismitoad? I have been playing with Jason's Nationals deck on PTCGO recently, and I have one answer. Manectric/Mega Manectric. Jason might be able to beat it, but I sure as heck can't. So, as a result of this odd concoction, the only items I use are ones to get Vileplume into play ASAP. I was also kind of torn between Rare Candy and Giant Plant Forest or whatever it is called, so let me know if I made the right choice! Also, I whipped this list up in 2 seconds and I can't play test it so opinions would be awesome ty. BTW, this is my first thread on PokeBeach!

Pokemon (18)

  • 4 Manectric-EX
  • 2 M Manectric-EX
  • 2 Oddish
  • 2 Gloom
  • 2 Vileplume
  • 2 Vulpix
  • 2 Ninetales
  • 2 Shaymin-EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums (31)
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 4 Professor Birch's Observations
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 2 Team Flare Grunt
  • 1 AZ
  • 2 Giant Plant Forest
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 3 Level Ball
  • 3 Trainers' Mail
  • 2 Manectric Spirit Link
  • 2 Professor's Letter
  • 1 Battle Compressor
Energy (11)
  • 11 Lightning Energy
Strategy

Try to get Manectric-EX active and energized ASAP, he is the main attacker. Use draw support like Shaymin-EX, Birch, Sycamore, and Trainers' Mail to get cards like Manectric Spirit Link, Ultra Ball, Oddish, Giant Plant Forest, Gloom, Vileplume, Professor's Letter (You don't want to run out of Energy to attach from Manectric), Battle Compressor (Head Start for M Manectric), and Level Ball (For Oddish, Gloom, Vulpix and Ninetales). Make sure to get those Items down quick! Attack with Manectric, while setting up bench. Use Mega Manectric for extra help and attaching to other Manectric and more HP. When you think you are ready, Evolve Gloom into Vileplume. From there its a matter of Attach, Supporter, Attack, until the end of the match.

Like I said, this obviously isn't perfect, so leave your ideas down below. Thanks!

also if somebody can tell me how to justify i dont know this bbcode stuff

It seems weird to be playing Ninetales without a Stadium to lock in play. If you can't bump your opponents' Stadium, then you would have to get Ninetales out before your opponents play their Stadiums in order to use Ninetales effectively, which might not always be possible.

True, I will make adjustments for Rough Seas

too much energy, you only need 2 to attack and you can get it back quite easy. Maybe AZ to recycle those shaymin

Yeah, I had AZ in the original decklist. However, I seem to get enough draw support from the original Shaymins and the supporters in other decks. The energy is for retreating in case of a Lysandre, and I can't use a switch because of Vileplume. Of course, I don't know exactly how all this will work out until I playtest.

dunno if healing is that necessary. i feel plant stadium is more useful. get vileplume out asap.
I am already running Rare Candy over that, and healing would be more help after Ninetales locks the stadium, but when the set released on PTCGO, I'll be sure to try the deck both ways and see which way performs better

Rare Candy was nerfed to make it unusable on the first turn or on a Pokemon that was first put into play.

I am aware of this, but I changed the decklist anyway, since it takes up less space to use Giant Plant Forest than Rare Candies.
