I hope its the light, but I don't really like this textured look of the rarer cards.

In my experience, all of the Pokémon textured cards (FAs, shinies, other UR/SR, etc.) always look worse in photos/scans than they do in person. I'm always consistently impressed with how those cards looks and feel in person compared to their scans. For the Japanese ones, anyway. >_>

The full arts in Japan are actually not as good as the English ones imo. They look cheaper in Japan, not only is the texture not as define but the cardboard used is thinner and kind of flimsy. I definitely prefer the English full arts to the Japanese ones.

That being said I think the full art megas will look cooler with Japanese text, as opposed to the ugly giant English text.

Really, really hoping it will be a Ancient trait Ninetales in the set :O Gotta say I'm way to hyped for this set, maybe even more than Flashfire (I'm a Charizard fan). I like all the EXes except for Treventant, but its still a lot better than Emolga at least. Might get 3 boxes of this set, and I'm even tempted to get a japanese booster box but probably only of one of the set in that case >_>

I don't really find the texture to be any better on the English FAs compared to their Japanese counterparts. But, oh well. To each their own. Japanese FAs may be on slightly flimsier stock, but at least I don't have to worry about miscuts or smudges or nicks or other quality imperfections. :p

I can't stress enough how i love the way this set is shifting away from the bigbasics format and towards the evolution cards. That's all i wanted for some time now. And the arts, every single card looks awesome even the pokémon i dont like very much.

This set looks so good, I'm honestly considering buying a case because of how many Ultra Rare cards we will get. Also just as a reminder to everyone that FA cards in Japan are considered SR but not in the English sets so those FA megas wont be as hard to get a hold of as the gold switch, e. hammer, etc.

No, the megas will be secret rare like the golden megas.

About how much time should it take to get the rest of this set's scans? We're still missing Translations for things like Lanturn, Azumarill, Ludicolo, and more. I think there's a total of about 40+ cards left..

The set itself is released tomorrow, I believe; sets are usually released on Fridays in Japan, if I recall correctly. So, probably by tomorrow if not sooner we'll be seeing the rest of the cards.

Hey are those absol/ m absol cards coming in the primal clash set as well? Just curious.

I believe the only Megas/Primals/EX have been leaked now, so no.

Really, ScottSpain? The only one I see as ultimately viable that we know thus far is Teammates. Maybe Birch will replace Shauna, but Shauna isn't that popular to begin with. Maxie and Archie are interesting, but they're too situational to be competitive.

Maxie and Archie may be situational but I bet that they will become competitively used in water (such as deluge) and Donphan or Lucario.

God dammit PCL! Are they for real with this? They waited (and wasted) this whole time to just make full art megas all of a sudden?? It was already somewhat annoying they started to make spirit link cards in the previous set and didn't make them for the other megas but this one is unforgivable!
What about the previously released Megas? It's not fair they don't get full arts like the ones from this set onwards.

If they really want Stage 2s to start seeing consistent usage they should make Rare Candy a Tool card that gets discarded once Level 2 is achieved. It'd act like a Spirit Link essentially.

The set looks amazing though. I'm not excited that the Primals received Spirit Links but it was probably inevitable. Definitely looking forward to getting all of the scans. Glad to see a new variety of Stadiums as the current ones are kind of limiting.

I do ponder the popularity of primals, even though they are extremely powerful. Are people likely not to use them due to it's power (maybe think it is too much of a power creep or unfair etc) or are these cards going to become the next vir/gen?

I think it's just the way they are pictured here. I'm sure weather they're Japanese or English they both look great when they are scanned for the site. We just need to get proper scans of them on the website I think it is the lighting effect when taking the pictures that are making them look like this. The Gardevoir EX full art is what they are all meant to look like, the picture of that card has been taken from almost directly above, where as the others are angled, hence the light making them look sandy and texturized.

I'm just going to try and get the Wailord EX full art and I'm totally digging the 1/2 artwork especially because of the backgrounds. The background of these 1/2 art cards is what makes them more special than most of the EX cards in this set in my opinion, even though some are common and uncommon.

I cannot agree enough. The biggest pet peeve I have with this set, though, is that it seems that for every Half-Art Ancient Pokémon, there is a Standard Art Pokémon for it. (Sceptile, Bunnelby, Medicham) I get really annoyed by that, because I bet the Rarity choices for the English Sets will take advantage of this by making them 1 rarity higher. For example, I bet that Ancient Eelektrik will be a Rare instead of an Uncommon!

Actually these are just the Japanese ex's, Absol could be featured like Aegislash and Dialga was in Phantom Forces, in Primal Clash, though with so many ex's I doubt it will be and kind of hope it isn't. Also I'd prefer full art Absol in a future set.

Here's a closeup of a Japanese Florges Full Art and an English Dragonite Full Art, I don't have an English Florges full art so I can't compare them in person but you can see the ridges on the Dragonite are bigger and farther apart. This is true on all of my English full arts from recent sets. On the Japanese card the ridges are on her leaves as well as in the background and various other locations but they are small, close together and you can't even really tell which parts are ridges and which parts are different textures from a distance. I think the larger ridges/farther apart look is better. I find the english full arts shine more light, and the Florges Full Art is the only Japanese full art I own in person so maybe it's different on other full arts.

But looking at the pictures of the trainers, where you can see the texture on the cards well, I don't see any ridges so I'm anticipating seeing the English full arts moreso then the these Japanese ones.
