XY76 'The Wind, the Egg and Noibat!'

It probably will. :p It won't really be able to earn its place on the team otherwise, and there's still plenty of "cute" Pokémon in the regular line-up.

In my opinion, the episode was okay, but nothing stellar. The highlight was really the interaction between Hawlucha and Noibat, who seem like they are forming quite a bond already. TR felt rather stilted and forced, though that's true for most TR "let's still the Pokémon of the day" plots these days. I still love you, TR, but you're getting stale. :p Go back to costuming or building mechas or performing ridiculous stunts.

And so a long-standing tradition of bat Pokémon being caught offscreen comes to an end. Can't complain, though- I'm liking this Noibat already.

OK, so first James looks up Goodra when they steal Goomy, and now they look up Noivern when they steal Noibat. Where was this kind of thinking when they found out the "Feebas" Jessie bought was actually a Magikarp, back in Hoenn? OK, sure, no Milotic, but it's like they completely forgot the sheer destructive potential of Gyarados! But I digress- this seems like a pretty decent episode, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of Noibat. :)

Anyone else concerned about the old owners of the egg, may be missing it? Does this mean Ash has ANOTHER temporary Pokémon on his team?

It was probably just a wild egg. I think if there were going to be later plot points surrounding the egg's original owner (trainer, parent, or otherwise) there would have been at least a slight hint about it when the egg was found.

The writers aren't that stupid. This isn't Kanto anymore- we're long past the days where Butterfree leaves not 20 episodes from its debut, and Primeape only appears in its catch episode and three episodes later when it leaves. It did surprise me that they pulled that stunt with Goodra, but to do it with another of Ash's Pokémon, I doubt they'd dare to try it.

True. I could see them getting an episode out of it, though- a pack of Noivern identify Noibat as the Egg they lost, they think Ash stole it, and Noibat has to defend Ash, and in the end, the Noivern accept the fact that Noibat is with Ash. Could even have it come down to Noibat having to save everyone from Team Rocket (or maybe something other than them for once, though I do still like Team Rocket), and the Noivern realize that Noibat's doing it using skills it must have learned from Ash's training. Could even be an opportunity for Noibat to learn a new move, or even evolve.

So Ash has caught another Dragon-type - let's just hope he keeps hold of this one, considering Goomy didn't stay with him for too long. Keeping my fingers crossed cause Noivern is just awesome

What attacks will Noibat turn out to have beyond Supersonic, anyway? My guess is Wing Attack, Shadow Ball, and Dragon Pulse. At least until it evolves, anyway- once Ash gets himself a Noivern, it's hard to imagine Boomburst not coming into the picture in some way.
