YanPhan
Hey Pokebeach! After considering Canada and U.S. National results, I formulated a deck with the cards available to me. Needless to say on a side note, Yanmega has grown quite the controversey and lets see it in action next season!
So the strategy here is to swarm with Yanmega and Donphan (although the odd combination) for quick damage and heavy tanking (along with sniping). Following multiple Judges and Copycats, Slowking is able to control their top decks rather easily (unless they have Ninetails) and control the game.
So before I lay down the list, I am going to rate the deck based on the PokeCommunity's opinions and point of views:
Speed: 9/10: Being able to set up by Turn 2 is an excellent feat and can change a game drastically.
Engine: 6/10: Without any Pokemon draw engine (such as Ninetails or Magnezone), the deck relies on Slowking to help out your next draw along with multiple Judges and Copycats for refreshment.
Damage Output: 6/10: Doing between 60-90 damage is fair game, and generally 2HKO any Pokemon (Exceptions such as Tyranitar and Zekrom).
Late-Game (Longetitvity): 9/10: With Rescue Energies, one energy attacks, and Stage 1 Pokemon, the deck can stay in the game for quite a while and remains at peak performance.
Board Control/Game Control: 8/10: Unless your opponent has a Ninetails or Magnezone down, Slowking paired with a Judge is truley devestating and can decide an entire game.
Matchups: 7/10: Overall, the deck has fairly good matchups, mostly even (Such as Reshiboar, Blastgatr, Cinccino). The good matchups of course are Zekrom (being able to one shot with EQ after they Bolt Strike or even with a Plus Power) and Magnezone. However, versus Kindgra/Yanmega, it turns to be a VERY close game on who sets up first. Agianst Beartic/Vileplume, the matchup is TERRIBLE unless you attack straight Yanmega or deny their Vileplume setup.
Overall, the deck has good ratings and see it being competitive: Key Factor: Board Control and Speed.
So here is my list!
Pokemon- 17
3 Yanma
3 Yanmega
3 Phanpy
3 Donphan
2 Slowpoke
2 Slowking
1 Jirachi
T/S/S
4 Pokemon Collector
2 Duel Ball
4 Pokemon Communication
4 Pokemon Reversal (Or Catcher when Released)
3 Professor Elms Training Method
4 Judge
4 CopyCat
2 Switch
3 Junk Arm
2 Plus Power
Energy
2 Rainbow
2 Rescue
6 Fighting
Jirachi is used (in unsion) with Yanmega to De-Evolute Massive HP Stage 2's (and Stage 1's) to their basic form and get an effective prize card.
Please comment and suggest new ideas! PEACE!
