Ruling You Can Knock Out This Pokemon

Hello i'm very new here and i have a question regarding things like Plasma Cofagrigus and the new Milotic coming in Flashfire. They have the PokeAbility that states "knock out this Pokemon" If this is the case say with Cofagrigus and im using to to put 3 dmg counters so that it wont be KO'd by my opponent does he take a prize?

I have no idea how to do that which is why i gave VERY specific examples.

Any time a Pokémon is knocked out, a prize is taken. The only exception being Shedinja from Dragons Exalted in which it's Ability states not to take one after it is KO'd.
